What's it worth?
I'm looking at buying a 2010 825i in very good condition it has about 130 hours on it and has the following added accessories: 4WD XUV Gas Extreme terrain Deluxe Cab w/ Heat All Available Lights Power Dump Bed Mirrors Horn Spray-in Bed Liner Turn Signals Bighorn Radial Tires Cargo box with Poly liner, brake & tail lights. Racing this beast...
We ran in a 4 hour endurance race...UTVRR.Com. We are currently looking into getting some stronger springs, the current fox springs are 130pounds or so and we need to add 100 pounds or more to get some lift. If anyone thinks that the commander for the 825i will work on the RSX then I will give it a shot. I have the BIG Gun dual exhaust, HID lights and 5 point harnesses, thinking of getting the PRP seats, unless someone has better thoughts.
I also need ideas for a wheel package. I would like to run some bf goodrich tires on 14" rims for some stiffer sidewall and traction.

Engine Temperature
Just curious how hot anyone else's machine gets. Last fall and winter my machine hardly ever got into the black hash marks on the temperature gauge (wish it had an actual temp reading!!). However, this spring I frequently get into the last two "black" marks. I put 27" Black Diamonds on it a month ago and wondered if this was putting the extra stress on the engine and causing the hotter condition. I plan to flush the radiator fins out tonight to see if that makes a difference. Any comments would be appreciated.

Gator 6x4 with FD620D heating up
Looking for some help here. We just overhauled the engine in a 6x4 with the Kaw. Fd620d. One head ( the one that takes the upper radiator hose ) gets considerably hotter than the other side. I have removed the thermostat, blown through all the water lines ( upper and lower rad. hoses ) and get circulation. I am guessing the water pump is not circulating like it should. Even more curious, is the fact that this cylinder had thrown the rod and appears to have been running hot before the rebuild, from looking at the exhaust manifold.
Anyone have ideas???

K&N Air Filter
Don't want to argue if they are good or bad. However, if anyone is interested I finally crossreferenced the K&N part number and have been running it for a couple days. The K&N number is 4961 (E-4961 to be exact). It is a sythetic "industrial" filter that doesn't require it to be oiled, just cleaned. I bought two of them and plan on giving them a try. After I researched them on the K&N site and did a bunch of cross referencing, I ordered them on Amazon for about $38 bucks per filter.

Upgrade pre 2013 Gator to digital instrument cluster
Hey everyone. Hopefully someone can help. I have a pre 2013 XUV 855D. I would like to fit the new digital instrument cluster/screen like the 825i and 2013 855D have. I have found the part code for the screen etc. Can someone tell me if it's possible/how it would get the speed for the readout? Where and how would I mount the sensor? This can't be that hard?! Thanks in advance.

belt burning at idle
Hello Everyone, Well I'm new to this forum, my first post, traded in my 2012 Cam Am 1000 XT for the Gator trail model, took it out for the first time today, I like it alot, runs out real nice, not as much power as the Can Am but I new this going with the Gator, The Gator handles better than the Can Am, is a little bit queitier, very smoth, seems to be more nimble also, much easier to get in and out of, very impressed so far.
OK, now on to a strange thing that happened to me, it did this same thing twice, I as riding down a dirt road at approx. 30 mph and then coasted down and pulled over to the side of the road idling in gear for about 15 seconds, all of a sudden smoke started pouring out from under the machine, alot of smoke, I could smell it was a belt burning so I just gave it some gas and the way we went, no further problems until the next time it did it, same thing smoke all over the place, gave it some gas and the way we went, now it has not it since, just those 2 times, WTF, anyone else have this problem?
Sounds like the clutches not releasing at idle, I'll take it for another spin next weekend and see if this still happens and I will also let my dealer know about this.

Gator 825i won't turn over
2012 825i that will not turn over, it appears everthings ok with key on. Fuel pump comes on, but nothing happens on start, like the neutral swith is not making. Jumpered it and still nothing. I saw an icon on dash, looks like a book with wrech on it. Anyone got an idea?

RSX 850I Exhaust
Hello all, I've had my Sport version 850I for about 4 months now and have been noticing the area around the O2 sensors in the exhaust will turn cherry red within a few minutes of riding. Idling doesn't seem to bring up to temp enough for the glow, but any riding for 5 min or more does. Slow or fast speed doesn't change things. Took it to the dealer after the first few weeks of noticing, and they said JD was aware and that it was normal. you can certainly smell it, not necessarily a burning smell, and was just curious if other on here had the same experience. I can only imagine how hard those sensors would be to remove when they finally needed replacement...

RSX 850I Gator isn't a water monster
I just had my new rsx 850i gator in a little bit of mud and water approx. 15". Just to find out that water and mud can enter the transmission through the dip stick tube? I took it to the dealer so they could see what could potentially happen if the machine was in water and mud. They replaced the transmission oil and noted the concern. Unfortunately I still have the same dip stick which doesn't fit properly to avoid this from happening again. I will have to adapt something so this doesn't happen to me while I am 30 kms. in the bush and wait for more people to complain about the same issue so John Deere can correct the problem through a recall. Which could possibly cost them more in the long run by unnecessary repairs which could have been avoided through proper research and replacement.

RSX Big Gun Exhaust Install
The first thing I did was remove the bed. I've been looking at it for weeks with the bed on and you can't see much. It's easy to remove. I also removed the passenger side panel. With them removed everything is easy to get to.

water issues with the rsx 850i gator
I purchased the 850 i solely on the reputation John Deere has. I wish I would have looked it over a little better before doing so through. After my water & mud in the dip stick issue I started to pay closer attention to the potential issues water may play with the machine. I now realize that a person would be taking a huge risk by taking this machine in water above 15" in depth, water has the potential not only to pass through the transmission dip stick tube but also into the air intake housing unit? this looks impressive enough from the outside but take a closer look. The clutch intake isn't even fastened to the breather box, they have a make shift drain diaphragm on the driver side of the box, the box doesn't have a water tight seal at all, and take a good look over the snorkel tube itself. After doing so you will realize that the whole air intake system needs to be replaced to ensure it has a water tight seal. The only thing good about the air intake is the filter.
I still need to look it over a little better, when I spoke not only to the mechanic but also the sale person about the water in the transmission, both of them immediately suggested the transmission breather line? Has this been an issue in the past I ask?

New windshield and door inserts for RSX
Received a full windshield with vents from Calmarc Cabs in Ocala Fl. yesterday. Very fast shipping and packaged well. It has vents on the bottom towards the dash that are a great option. Mounted easily and looks great.
Also received the black metal door inserts from Mammoth Designs. Comes with rubber strips for the edge of the plates to avoid rattling. Easy install with the provided screws. Sealed up the useless holes in the doors.

Spots for 825i
Anyone know where I can find some aftermarket spots that will fit on a 825i brush guard? Got to be something out there as good as the Hella spots JD offers but for less $$.

Dealer did not fill front diff or put seals in, after putting new front diff in.
Same Filmore JD in MI. I had trouble befor with, not doing what they say.
They said they fixed the seat, got home seat never bolted it back in.
Now Read This""""""!!!!!!! They put a new front diff in my RSX 850i, after my first WV ride. They replaced the diff housing.
Last month at the cliffs off road park. It started making a loud noise in the drive line.
A good JD dear found the problem . Took it apart and found now diff fluid!!!!!!
And now axcial Seals that hold the fluid in. They also said they didn't use the right hardware . And took along time to get it apart. The inside of the front diff had rust.
They half to send up a complant to the district service rep.
I'm ready to contact JD and ask for a longer warranty.
What are your thoughts.
