I have a sport with about 8 hours on it and I've noticed a rattling noise that sounds like it comes from the center directly under or behind the seats when I'm going in the 28-30MPH range. It doesn't do it every time, and it doesn't do it long. I'm thinking it might be related to the CVT but really can't tell for sure. It sounds like light weight metals banging together, maybe like a screw driver tapping a drive line somewhat rapidly. Anyone else ever hear something similar?

2005 HPX 4x4 running rich...
Hi!, I'm new to this forum because I'm at a loss as to what might be the issue and hopefully someone has experienced my situation and might be able to shed some light on it.
I have a 2005 HPX 4x4, best I can tell it has a kawasaki engine (right?)
anyway, it is running rich or at least the spark plugs indicate it (very fouled, black & wet).
It starts OK, idles OK, and runs at very low speeds OK but as I accelerate, it starts to cut out really bad.
Things that have happened recently are the wife ran it out of gas which I don't see that having any bearing on this; and the fuel pump went out and I replaced it with a generic electric from the parts store... I got the lowest pressure pump which I believe was a 2 PSI pump.
I've taken the carb apart multiple times to ensure there was nothing in the needle & seat that might be preventing it from closing. I have throughly cleaned the carb. I see the little solenoid that appears to be a fuel shut off and it appears to be working OK. I don't see any form of power valve that might be ruptured and causing things to be running rich. I've also tried removing the crank case vent to the air intake to ensure I wasn't just shoving lots of oil into it. Compression is good on both cylinders. Best I can tell the timing is fixed but have heard a sheared key could let the flywheel slip and alter timing... I don't have a manual on this so don't even know if I can attach a light and see if the timing is off.
I'm at a loss... any ideas anyone?
(and I raced 1/4 mile for many years so engines, transmissions, axle assemblies, etc... are nothing new to me but on this little 2 cyl engine, I'm hurt'n...)
Any ideas on what to check and how would be greatly appreciated.

New JD XUV 825i Owner
My husband and I Got our brand new gator home, hopped in for a few mile ride. Was surprised at how loud it was but more importantly at 12 miles an hour or so the rpm's were up to 3500. Never went over 24 miles per hour because it feel like the engine was to explode. I'm am exaggerating about explode, but cannot imagine getting to 40 miles an hour. I can understand a "break in" period, but I'm hoping the forum can help a first-timer? Best way to break-in? How many miles/hours? Any info will be appreciated.

Purchasing 855D S4
Hi guys, new to the board. I own a 2012 Mule 4010 TRANS that has been idiling like a piece for about 2 years. (every mule owner I know of has the same problem) It only has 380 hours on it.
I'm working with a dealer on a 855D S4, with a Radio and speakers ,Bighorn tire upgrade, Roof, Windshield, auto dump, and upgrade fender/bumper/guards. Also 4 forward pointing lights and 2 point backwards.
They are giving me 7K on the trade, (im pushing back asking for 8k).
Price on the gator is $19,100.
So questions.
1. is the 855D S4 a lifetime machine like I hope? who owns one and how durable are they? worth the $?
2. Does that pricing sound reasonable?
Thanks for the help fellas.

Rage Storm Review

After much anticipation on our part, we were able to test the Rage Storm tires at this year's Discount Tire Rally on the Rocks.
We had four vehicles in our group fitted with Rage Storm tires and the Tread Lightly! Trail Restoration Project on Sevenmile Trail served as the first testing grounds. After we completed the fence building we went over to Wipe out Hill for our own type of recreation. The Rage Storm tires gripped the steep rock face with ease. The stability of the center rib design along with the flat tread pattern delivered solid traction. We never slipped a tire on this intimidating obstacle.

This year we had some rain to make the trails even a bit more challenging at times with the added mud/sand mixture on parts of the trail.
The high void ratio tread cleaned out the sand/mud on Cliffhanger even with wet sandy soil. We had no problem with traction what-so-ever.

We found the Rage Storm tires lived up to our expectations. The 8 ply rated tire held up to everything we threw at them on some of the toughest trails in Moab.
Climbing ledges was not a problem as the tires found grip on even the steepest surfaces such as Wipe Out Hill, Cliffhanger and the Z turn on Moab Rim Trail.

The added protection from the wrap around lugs came in handy on many of the obstacles as we bounced off many boulders along the way.

Easiest Winch to intall??
I bought my 2013 825i S4 mainly for plowing snow in the winter, and hauling people around our game club in the summer. I need to install a winch before I get a plow in the fall. Which winch will do the job for a plow AND is easy to install.
Thanks

homemade rear bumper for a gator 825is4
Here is my homemade rear bumper for a gator 825is4
I didn't want to spend $300 on the JD rear bumper so I made my own for less than $50.
I still purchased the side fender guards because I didnt have access to a tube bender.
The supports are made from 3/8 steel plate that I cut using jigsaw with a 18tpi metal blade.
Holes are cut using a standard Hole saw blade on a drill press.

825i regret...after only 13 hours
Many of you might have seen my posts about numerous issues with this machine but I wanted to sum it up and expand on it for anyone considering purchasing an 825i. Keep in mine I am a die hard John Deere guy. It's all we use on the farm and it pains me to say anything bad about deere.
1 hour on machine dipstick or breather was letting oil spew out of transmission. Never did quite figure out what the problem was(for sure) but replaced both and it was fixed
8 hours on machine went to do first oil change and found the drain plug way way too tight and very hard to remove. Turns out it was cross threaded from factory. Dealer had it for 2 weeks to change pan.
9 hours on machine just got back from dealer replacing oil pan upon startup noticed a loud air sucking sound. Turns out they must have bumped the plastic MAP sensor that goes into air Intake manifold. Not only did they break that, but now the o ring and a piece of plastic sensor are Down inside the intake manifold. Had to remove the air intake and luckily was able to get a shop vac and get the pieces out before they damaged engine. Didn't want to wait two more weeks for dealer to fix this ad possibly break something else so I ordered the 100 dollar sensor myself and will replace. In the meantime the old sensor is duck taped on so I can run the machine.
13 hours on machine. Squealing from what sounds like the rear somewhere. Will do it at all speeds. Sounds Terrible.
At this point I am literally afraid to even run the machine. I've never had this many problems with any piece of equipment in my life let alone in the first 13 hours. I love the 825i and I want it to be a great machine very very badly, but I regret my purchase. I baby my quads and tractors. Never ride through mud or water never job ride. The 825i has simply had 13 hours of putting around the farm and couldn't even handle it. Very disappointed in John deere.

Big gun exhaust
Any one out there running a big gun evo or exo slip on exhaust on they're rsx? I have a exo series but it's causing problems. The way in which the muffler mounts directs the exhaust right onto the piggy back ressy of my shock. There fore it is heating up the ifp valve in the shock and ruining it. Big gun says they have never had this issue, unless I am the only one running one of they're exhausts on a sport model rsx...

625 Gator exhaust
I have a 2014 JD 625 Gator. Since day 1 the exhaust noise has been something of an issue for me. It has a poly roof but no doors/cab. I have followed the posts regarding the Silent Knight add-on muffler and the comments regarding less than perfect fit to the 825 muffler and resulting access to the rear hitch.
Two questions: 1) is the muffler of the 625 identical to the 825 so I should anticipate similar installation issues on my machine? 2) Can anyone suggest other methods of reducing the engine/exhaust noise?
Thanks

Building a small lift
Well, since no one makes a rear bracket for the RSX, I'm making my own. The only odd thing is I'm only going 1" maybe 1.5". My goal to get a little arch from the control to the frame and then I'm upgrading tire sizes as well for more GC. Basically, the back of the shock hoop has two bolt holes and I'm making this a bolt on kit. The front, I'll do something that is bolt on too, but that's for later. I'm headed out of town for a few days but I should have this done by the end of the week. I'll post pics when I get farther.

625i exhaust-and a new member
First of all, I would like to thank you guys for letting me join. I hope I will learn a lot while I'm here. Now on to the real problem.
I bought a gator 625i about 3 years this coming November. It has mostly been a flawless machine, except for the service center is new to the cabs so I got a messed up one. The only complaint I have is the exhaust. It is so loud! Why is it so loud? My buddies 825i is whisper quiet and mine is so loud you need ear plugs to drive it. (No exaggeration) I bought one of those stupid benz silent rider things (junk!). Since I put it on, I have not noticed any difference in the loudness.
Well today I did a little test. I got 88db at the drivers ear with the silent rider and 89db without it installed. So that shows it did nothing. I took more measurments too, at idle, full rev, at the muffler, etc.
My main question is, what exhaust do you guys run on your 625i's? I just don't want it to be so loud!
Sorry for my long winded first post, but I hope somebody can help me here. Thank you guys in advance for your help!
