Wiring harness for lights

$

Out of curiosity, do any of you know of a harness for the brush guard lights that will direct connect to existing Gator wiring with compatible connectors?
I need a harness for those lights, but want to wire into the existing connections JD put there for this purpose with out butchering my harness. I'd buy their harness for it, but $135 is a bit excessive.

Or, where I can buy the single connectors to adapt a commercially available harness to do this? Everything I seem to find is a set of 50 or so for $100+.

6x4 Gator torque converter/ transmission trouble

Hi everyone. I just bought a gas(Kawasaki) powered 6x4. When I bought it, the idle adjustment screw was backed out so far it wouldn't idle without a little pedal assist. I now know why...when idled up it won't go into gear...tranny growls and grinds. Could the torque converter be engaging at too low of an RPM? This is what it seems like, as if I idle it back down, and pedel it enough to barely keep it running, the tranny engage, but it still grinds a little. Should the pulley on the transmission be turning at idle, and if so, how fast? As soon as the engine starts, the "bell" on the engine pulley snaps in on the belt, causing it to turn the pulley on the tranny.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks,
Randy

New to the Forum-need help removing secondary clutch

$

Gator 4x2 purchased new around 98-99 serial # W004X2X050120. started hearing a lot of noise in the clutch so I took it to the JD dealer, he started the engine right on the trailer and revved the engine, turned it off and said I needed a new secondary clutch. I had him order it and yesterday I picked it up, brought it home and following his instruction, removed the center bolt from the secondary. It wasn't frozen or stuck at all, was sliding off easily but ran into the exhaust/muffler. This changeout is going to be as easy as the tech at the dealer said if I can just remove or swing the exhaust out of the way without damaging anything. If I loosen the two bolts where the exhaust pipe exits the motor, then remove the two bolts at the bottom that connect the muffler assembly to the frame, can I swing the whole assembly out of the way without damaging the manifold or exhaust donut? I don't want to do more damage than good. Thanks in advance for the help. By the way, gator only has 653 hours since new.

Gator 825i Starting Issues

2013 Gator 825I Starting troubles: Of recent, starts when cold or having sat overnight. Once it has warmed up, does not start. Acts just like it is in gear, nothing happens. It is neutral and the neutral circuit is fine. So when it does not start, nothing is happening in the starter circuit, no clicking of a solenoid, no sign of a low battery, just like it’s an open circuit. Once it cools all the way down, after a several tries, it starts as if nothing is wrong. I've been told by JD James River Eqpt it could be the Ignition Coil(s) but that circuit is post starting so that puzzles me. I have had some sputtering when topped out on the road so figured the Ignition Coils/Plugs could contribute to that, but shouldn’t have anything to do with the starting circuit.

Here is the interesting part. Coincidentally, when it does not start, after cooling down, I can engage the winch, in or out, doesn’t matter, and it will start, not every time, but occasionally.

I have some corrosion on the neg post of the battery which I will clean today and double check all connections. Just a very inconsistent weird scenario that is a typical ground/connection sounding problem.

Starter, when it fires, is perfect, no clicking, and no clanking, perfect.

Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.

855D front drive oil seal help needed

I thought this would be an easy one. I removed the seal and noticed a lip on the outside and a 1/2 " grove inside that the seal sets in. So it looks like you have to split the case to get the seal in. This is what it looks like but why have one like this.
the manual has that you"install the seal with an appropriate seal driver" and that's all it says. My seal driver is just tapping it in .
l hope you can see what I mean. Should I just push/tap it in? I gave it a shot on measuring the hole but cant get a good reading with the shaft in the center.

my friend has a gator the only id I can find on it is the product identification number - W00TURF008325 - The battery is not charging - I suspect the voltage regulator - not having any luck getting a part number without a model number - not really familiar with this golf cart type of system, presume the battery is suppose to charge when vehicle is under way - not happening - voltage constantly decreasing - ??

Hi, I'm new to the site.

I have a warn 3500 (JD part number BM24723). They also supplied a mount kit
(BM25079). The instructions are really bad. The mount does not have any holes that align with anything on the chassis. Do I need the front receiver?
Also the wiring requests that I connect into an existing plug in the chassis harness near the instrument panel. I can't seem to locate this. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Russ

we have a 2013 xuv 550 with a broken throttle cable .Im trying to remove the Carburetor cover to get to the cable. the manual shows me three cap screws to remove . I have two cap screws (going into the exhaust heat shield )that I have removed

where the third screw should be there is a black plastic plug .
I've tried prying the plug out but it wont come .

I can cut it but I'm concerned about where the internal cut piece will go .

am I missing something here ?

is there a way to remove the plug ?

why do I have a plug rather than a screw ?

Thanks

Changing anti freeze 825i

Ok going by manual when you change antifreeze you are supposed to take apart two lines just below and behind the seat to drain out as much antifreeze possible and jack up front to aid in getting it out then you take a drain plug out that's on water pump to get rest out of block.Well there is no drain plug their but shows one in manual I asked my dealer about this so he checked a new 825i and it is same way no drain plug.He had no idea on how to get the rest out of block to drain out.
So my question is anybody change antifreeze in there 825i and how did you get all AF out thanks.

FYI: I drained as much as I could then just filled it up with new AF.

Electrical Issues: No Start

I have a Gator 6x4 gas. It shut off as it was being driven one day. I decided to mess with it, and while attempting to find fuses, I located numerous wires which had been poorly repaired/replaced by the previous owner. (Forgot to mention the gator had no power at this point ie lights, lift, etc) I repaired the harness (engine harness remained hooked up and untouched), and put it back in the gator. The starter and ignition switch was also replaced at this point. The gator now has lights and will turn over. Two problems: (1) No power to coils, (2) If the starter does activate with the switch, the switch is in the 'run' position (1st click over). The ignition switch will not activate the starter by itself all the time. If I jump 12v to the starter, the starter will remain activated until I turn the ignition switch into the 'off' position. I checked voltage when the ignition switch is turned into the 'run' position, and the starter receives about 7 volts. Also if I turn the ignition switch to the 'start' position, I can hear another click. Any ideas what is going on with this thing?

Rally on the Rocks 2015 - Discount Tire Recap

This was our 5th year of sponsorship for the Discount Tire Rally on the Rocks Event in scenic Moab, Utah. We have thoroughly enjoyed each and every one and look forward to the continued growth of what's arguably the best UTV event in the country.

PRE-RIDE ON MOAB RIM TRAIL(5/12/15)

This year we arrived a day early so we were able to get situated and go for a pre-ride together to test some of the new tire models we are now offering. We had various side by sides with Rage Thunder, Rage Storm, Tensor Regulator A/T, ARI Arisun, and Journey P 350 Tires. Watch for more detailed write ups for these products shortly but as a quick note, the 30-inch Rage Thunder tires I put on my WildCat X made a world of difference in both ground clearance and traction. I was able to go straight up the Z-turn instead of having to make a 3 or 5 point turn. The tires stuck like glue to the slickrock and propelled me to the top with ease.

TRAIL RESTORATION PROJECT (5/13/15)

Wednesday morning we met at the trail head for Sevenmile Rim to help build fencing with Tread Lightly!, the BLM and a group of volunteers. We feel it is important to give back to the community in an effort to keep people traveling on existing trails. This particular project is part of the Restoration for Recreation program, which is Tread Lightly's! signature initiative to protect and maintain recreation opportunities by repairing roads, trails and bridges, improving maps and signage and access points, and revitalizing dilapidated recreational facilities.

We also unveiled our new Trail Support Trailer for the first time. Not only we we able to use the generator to run our drills for building fencing, but we also used the Camp Chef grill to feed everyone hot dogs and hamburgers for lunch. After lunch we headed over to Wipe Out Hill for a bit of excitement. Chad even took his 6 seater rock eater down and up Wipe Out Hill with our custom trailer attached. What a blast!

We ended our day hosting an ice cream social and raffle where proceeds went to Tread Lightly to help maintain trails. The arena was filled with excitement as we raffled off many awesome prizes including several sets of tires and wheels along with some Camp Chef products.

POISON SPIDER SPONSORED TRAIL RUN (5/14/15)

Thursday as we were making our way to Poison Spider the rain started coming down. This added element would make for an interesting ride on a challenging trail by adding water and wet sand to the slickrock. Fortunately we had an experienced group of riders that kept the group going at a steady pace even in the pouring rain. Everyone sloshed through the wet trail and still had a smile on their face at the end of the day.

CLIFFHANGER SPONSORED TRAIL RUN (5/15/15)

There are plenty of fun obstacles on Cliffhanger. The trail starts with some large steep downhill ledges to get you warmed up followed by an optional waterfall climb. This is all within the first 1/2 mile of the trail.

If you let your guard down for just a minute you could end up on your side quite easily. Cliffhanger gets it's name from the rock crawling section near the top of the mountain. There is a several hundred foot drop beside the trail that makes this rock crawling section of the trail more intimidating than it is because of the closeness to the edge.

We were fortunate this trip as everyone worked together and we all made it out with the only incident being one broken axle.

Later that evening was the big raffle everyone was waiting for. There were over $60,000 worth of prizes to be raffled off!

The arena was packed. Lance announced there was over 1,100 people registered this year, setting a new record. You could feel the excitement as ticket after ticket was called.

In the end we couldn't have been happier with the terrific turn out for this outstanding event. We hope you had as good of a time as we did and we look forward to next years event!

Remember to ride responsibly and buy all your tires and wheels at Discount Tire.

1998 6x4 gas Gator brakes??

First post as new member!! I just got this Gator for elderly neighbor and it probably has no more than 300-400 hours on it. I've been changing oil etc. but have notice when I go to stop suddenly or on a hill the brakes make a lot of grinding noise. Almost sounds like a vehicle when the pads are gone and you have metal to metal. I've read the trouble shooting tips and it says to change the transaxle oil. I will pick some up on the way home but is there anything else I should look for regarding this issue? Any filters, etc..? Thanks for any help.
