Hello to all!! I am new here. I am having a problem with my 855D. It has 260hrs. The engine dies all of the sudden. Have to turn motor over many times for it to start. Once it starts it runs rough for a few minutes . Then it works fine for a little bit and does it again. Have changed fuel filter. Same problem. Changed fuel still doing same thing. Any help would be much appreciated!!!!

Turf friendly tires

Just purchased a 2012 825I with the Ancla tires on it. Need to come up with suggestions as to what tires we can put on the unit to use around property and on the road transport. Have new rims on order to mount new tire on and plan store the takeoffs until we need them for off road use.

Open for suggestions to this new owner.

Back in the Gator game!

Ok, it's been a while since a gator has seen the stable, but we're back. I started with a tired and VERY rusty 6x4 diesel with over 6700hrs. It was very good to me and NEVER let me down. I sold it, and for the last few years I've had a Kubota RTV900 - great machine, absolutely no complaints. Someone offered me some decent money for it, so I wound up with a pretty nice 07 850d gator. So far, so good and glad to be back in the green. Thanks for all of the info, and I'll help any way I can. Cheers from Indianapolis!

Clutch Problems

Hadn't ran my machine for about a week. Fired it up, backed out of the garage, let off the gas, and the machine keeps slowly moving in reverse. Couldn't get it to shift to neutral without shutting off the engine. Fired it back up and it was hard to shift into high. Also same result, machine would creep forward without any gas. With the machine in gear and the brake on, I can hear the belt is still engaging. I'm definitely not a clutch expert so I thought I would inquire on the forum before I tore it apart or took it to Deere.

CV Axle Guards Enhancement - RSX 850i

Thought I would post a proposed solution to enhance the effectiveness of the factory CV Axle guards that are offered by J.D.
I ordered a set of guards for my RSX from Green Parts and after installing them realized the front guards do little to protect the front outer CV boots. The boots are completely exposed and very vulnerable to damage in just about any type Off-Road environment. My solution was to fabricate extensions that attached to the new guards. I actually had some material on hand that matched the new guards (1/8" aluminum) sheet. I made a template from cardboard and clamped it in place to check clearance with the wheels fully turned in either direction. After some trimming and sizing I was able to make an extension that bolted to the new guards which provides adequate protection to the CV boots without any interference with the steering or suspension. I'll post some pics for anyone interested. It was quite simple and took about an hour to do.

Gator Curtis Cab Full Steel Doors

$

I had a 6x4 gator before with a Curtis metal cab. These are the doors from it. If you ever find them, they're a FORTUNE! They are full steel with latches and locks, sliding windows, gas shocks, and rubber seals. I won't ship them, they're not light. There's some rust bubbling up from under the bedliner I sprayed on them, but still solid and will keep you warm! I believe they'll fit any TH, 4x2, 6x4, or anything of the sort with the Curtis cab. I tried them on my 850d, not going to fit! I want $300 for them or make me a reasonable offer.

EPI clutch kit

As referenced below, my machine is tore down and gonna have to remove the primary clutch. Figured this would be a good time to do the EPI Kit. Are people using the kit for stock tires or the kit for the 27 / 28" tires? I have a new set of original bighorns in 26" that I will be mounting this spring, however I don't want to be limited if I go back to 27 or 28" tires. Any input would be appreciated. Also any updates in general on the EPI kit would be appreciated

Fuel filter shutoff not working 2k 6x4 diesel

$

Hey everyone, happy new year. I am having the craziest thing happening to my 2000 6x4 diesel, first it kept stalling and I removed the fuel lines, fuel transfer pump(lift pump), fuel filter and housing and all the lines going into the tank. I also drained the tank but used a siphon to do this as I did not want to remove all the necessary items between the seats. Anyway, I found some "Gelantinous" substance on the pickup screen in the tank. After cleaning all the lines, filters etc.. It runs again HOWEVER, now I can't get the fuel filter "shutoff" to stop the flow of fuel to the filter. Crazy stuff eh, I was hoping (because my JD service manual) does not seem to show the fuel lines clear enough for me to follow if anyone has a diagram or info on how the fuel lines are routed. I have figured out that the pickup line goes to the fuel transfer(lift) pump and then back to the "inlet" on the filter housing. The filter housing fuel outlet is supposed to go to the injector pump but my injector pump has 2 connections (one of which seems to be on the end of the banjo bolt with the injector return lines(over flow -return). I just can't figure out which one of these is the TRUE inlet to the pump. Also, WHAT WOULD CAUSE the engine to continue to run? one more thing, when I PINCH the fuel return going to the tank the engine will spit and sputter and finally die... is my fuel filter house jacked? Another thing I noticed when I cleaned the fuel pump is that is has a "feed back" valve and it is working... so is the gator drawing fuel from the "return" line? I replaced the O-rings on the fuel bowl and shutoff handle, I am seeing a very light seepage around the bowl nut but not very much. It seems to be getting fuel from somewhere to keep running... (crazy thing, like I said it left me stranded on the road and now the damn thing won't stop - I think it is possessed, LOL). I did search this forum like I always do but found nothing relating to this issue.

Thanks for any comments!

Thank you,
Gatorboy65

Gator 620i powertach plow

Hello all new to here. I have a 2009 620i with a powertach plow. Plow works great until it starts tripping the thermal breaker. used to happen every once in a while, now it is starting to happen alot more often. i was told it could be the battery running low on volts, so i hooked up a volt meter to the battery and the voltage stayed around 13.6 volts while the plow was running. so i tested the voltage on each side of the breaker, side closer to the battery always stayed above 12. the other side would drop down to 9 volts and that when it would trip. why is that? is it faulty? can i jump out the breaker to see if it draws the battery down? Thanks for your responses.

oil filter options

i was doing cross reference searches for a different oil filter than the John Deere AM107423.... Fram lists a PH4967. Not a big fan of Fram but i then cross referenced the Fram number and K&N lists a HP-1003. Has anyone used this K&N filter?

Would the K&N filter be a better product than the Deere factory filter?

I have an 2012 825i that has to turn over and over to get started .. even after its been running for an hour or more to restart. Its almost as if the fuel pressure bleeds back immediately after the gator is shut off. Anyone else have this issue ?
