Well the deal was done tonight. Just need to figure out the options to order tomorrow. Going with ops roof and anti scratch windsheild for sure. I went with the midnight SE model. Seems to be the best deal now that the rebate was extended to it. Going with the 24 mth warranty too. It will be a couple weeks to come in atleast. They are all a long way away. Test drove a trail they brought in from another location. Seems like a sporty unit.
Already ordered the snorkel kit and plan to tear it down and go through it.

I am new to the forum and glad to see it exist!
I suspect that on my last ride I blew up my belt drive. It made the same sound as with my sled when it does happen and my RSX went neutral.
Now on my sled I can quickly replace it and easy to locate. Any one could help me with my three questions ?
1- My machine has less than 1,000 miles. Ain't that early to happen?
2- I get conflicting info about its location. Below the driver seat or under the dumping cargo in the back.
3- Is it easy to replace ?
Thanks!
Wawaron

Hey guys, Im new to the forum and haven't bought my gator...yet. I am still researching UTVs and any info on the gator XUV 550 S4 you can give would be greatly appreciated. This is the one im looking at since it is the only 4 seater in my price range. I had a few concerns about a carb instead of fuel injected engine. Also I was a little concerned about the lack of horse power in this model. I would primarily use it for tooling around the farm and hunting. I would occasionally carry four adults and on the rare occasion one of us kill a monster buck I would like enough power to get us all out of the woods.. I am also looking at bennche and Polaris.
Thanks

So my sales guy was telling me there is a very particular break in procedure for the RSX engine. But he didn't have the manual handy when I spoke with him late yesterday. I need to get plowing snow as soon as I get it. So I want to plan some time to break it in right. Can anyone post up the procedure? Not sure how special it is.
Thanks

I have a fairly new XUV550 that we bought last June and it has recently started squeaking/squealing sounds when moving at slow speeds and when coming to a stop. It does it when you are not touching the brake pedal. I took the rear wheels off and noticed that the rear pads are touching the rotors on both sides as if the brakes are being applied. Anyone else having these issues?

I've noticed that when climbing an embankment or creek side that when the front wheels go over the top that I have a noise similar to a hammer slapping an anvil. I've written it off as debri hitting the belly as have never found an issue or a failure. any way same thing this weekend but it happened several times and now I have no 4x4. it doesn't sound like its in the front end but more underneath the operator.
Before digging into it has anyone else had a similar experience or failure ??
thanks

I have seen several posts about getting build information from the VIN#. I have a Gator with VIN#W004X2X038647. How do you decipher the numbers. I think it is a 1999 model but I am not sure. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I finally got to take the RSX out this past Sunday for a little while. So far I'm thinking I made the right choice as I looked at just about everything before deciding to get the RSX. I have had a few John Deere products and they usually last a long time and that was what swayed me towards the Deere.
I have a few friends that have Polaris Razors and they have had a lot of problems with them,, although they are pretty rough on the machines. I just wanted mine to play with once in a while and do a little work too. I see a few posts from guys that have problems and I hope that is not a sign of things to come.

Joined a while back. Had hoped for a Midnight SE RSX, but unfortunately, there were none available from my local dealers.
So I ordered a new '14 in early October to find out Horicon had put a stop to the production run (no more '14s). So I got a '15 instead, though the Certificate of Origin says Dec 26th, 2014.
So now I have an Olive RSX Sport, 3500 lb winch, nerf bars, black & silver wheels, OPS poly sport roof, aluminum skid plate, SE door inserts, Kolpin 1/2 windshield.
Set of Rigid Industries D2 cube lights for the front bar & a set of Rigid Industries Dually cubes (diffused) for back up lights to go on sometime this week. Running Eaton Euro SR switches for the lights. Reverse/back up lights to be wired into the reverse circuit.
8ga wire going from the battery to a Cole Hersee solenoid that will send power to a Bussman RMTR fuse/relay (160 amp rate) box that will be powering the lights. So I will have future expansion available in the future.
