My name is John. I live in Tennessee. We have a gator TX left to us by our late grandfather. Nice layout on the site. Seems easy to use.

Seen site assistance..While i will be searching for it myself if anyone could help to point me in the right direction to engine cross references and swap outs for the 2009 gator TX 4x2:)

2009 Gator TX 4x2 Engine Replacement/Cross References

I did a search on the internet and can not find the FJ400D-CS04 Kawasaki Engine.(for sale) It says it was made in 2008. I saw different series engines on the net and went to kawasaki site and only saw FJ180 and lower. I didnt know if this made a difference as i know engine numbers and cc's change per brand.

What i wanted to know is a couple of things.

1 How many Horsepower is the FJ400D - CS04 engine? I know it says 401cc

2nd What replaces the FJ400D-CS04 engine that will fit into the 2009 Gator TX 4x2.

I didnt want to buy a motor that would be too high ot wide.I saw different HP 401cc engines so figured i would ask what engines can be used in the 2009 Gator TX 4x2

chain broke should gator still go?

1997 JD Gator 6x4 gas
I broke the drive chain on the drivers side today. In an effort to get out of the woods I locked the differential figuring it should work. Had problem however. Machine didnt want to lock in on other side and made a popping sound under where the break lever is,

Should I have been able to drive it with differential locked using passenger side duels and one wheel on drivers side? Any thoughts on popping sound?

Gator 6x4 with water in oil

Hey Guys, first post here and I apologize if its in the wrong place.

Ive got an older water cooled kawasaki powered 6x4 gator that has got water in the oil and of course google searching turns up almost nothing helpful.

I found this forum and am crossing my fingers its not just for the newer stuff...

Anyway, if anyone has a direction to point me itd be appreciated. I dont know if its just headgaskets or something else, I dont have manuals... just nothing ha.

RSX 850i dies on cold starts

After having stator fuse blow and frying battery, now when I start it up engine will idle will surge up and down and die a few times before it warms up. After it warms up idles fine. Any help would be appreciated.. Thanks Gary

New 625i accessory recommendations

I have recently purchased a new 625i as a basic machine from the factory with the intention of installing selected aftermarket accessories as time and budget permit. I did carefully consider JD roof, full windshield and supplemental mid-range lights but was discouraged by what seemed to me to be severely high factory pricing for those items.

I would appreciate any Forum members recommendations regarding 3rd party hard roof, windshield and midrange lights, and cargo bed liners. FWIW...the machine will be operated in northern Wisconsin (cold/snow) generally on former logging trails with no heavy duty applications (no gravel hauling or ag equipment towing)

Plastic maintenance...

Hello everyone. Hope the Holidays were great for you. I finally got my 2012 825i home from the place I bought it from. I noticed there were what appear to be over spray like an oil along the front of the plastic. I need to clean it but also wanted to polish it. I know when I researched it before with my ATV I used to have there was a Mother's wax product I found while using Google. We have Mother's products here in Canada but can't find the plastic wax. So far only in the USA. Has anyone used a cleaning and or waxing (polish) product that would work? Thanks in advance, Jack

RSX850i Yellow Aluminum Wheels & Green Hood

New to the forum today. Thanks for all the info on this site. Helped me with my decision to buy a 2014 RSX850i with the Rebates at the end of the year! There were no Trail Models left in the Olive Green, so I bought the JD Green and Yellow. No offense to anyone who has that color, but I really wanted the Olive. So, I bought an olive hood, the black rims and changed out the decals. That leaves me with the trail model stock aluminum 14" yellow rims and a JD Green Hood. If anyone is interested in either, make me an offer as I don't want them. They are off a brand new machine and not ever used. I am located in Vermont.

620I i think isnt charging

I have a 620 I that I added a winch to and haven't used it much till I built a plow for it

the other day I went and cut wood with it then later that afternoon my wife wanted to take it out to plow snow and had the lights on and was usining the winch and parked it in front of the house and when I went to put it in it wouldn't hardly roll over so I boosted it and put it back in the shop. and while it was running I put the charger on it it has a battery tester built it and says the battery is good but not charging but I didn't know if it would pick up the charging system on something this small so I left it to charge for 2 hours on 2 amp went out the next day and the snow was blowing so I plowed a path from the house to the barn and used the winch maybe like 4 times (no lights) and the engine was wanting to die the battery was so low so put it in and charged it with the charger again

so im just not sure where to start with it is the winch just to much for the charging system? is the charging system or something in the system gone bad? could I have jammed some brush up under it cutting wood and ripped a wire out? cause I have never had a problem with it over the past year I have owned it with not starting

any help would be great thanks

XUV 850D Snow Plowing

I have heavy equipment for deep snow here on the farm but these 4-5 inch snows or less its real overkill and lots of work mounting equipment. I have an 850D and wondering how they do in light snow plowing? I see the price for a plow is out the roof at JD but maybe a third party unit?

Camber adjustment??

My right front tire is leaning in at the top (camber) causing the inside half of the tire lugs to wear excessively. Is there a shim adjustment for this or do I have a bad ball joint???:confused:

First Gator, first JD!

Hello,

I recently purchased 3 Gators. 2 don't run (suspected starters) and one needs choke feathered to stay running. Now, it hasn't been over 16 degrees since I got them, but anyways... A few questions, I can't seem to find my SN on any of the links/tools I have found. Will someone advise on model/year for the following SN:

MOHXOPBO81647
MOHXOPBO81649
MOHXOPBO81656

In addition, any suggestions on where to start troubleshooting prior to running to a JD maintenance shop?

XUV550 s4 Texas Street Legal Conversion

I recently acquired a brand new XUV550 s4 through an online contest.
I'm in the process of converting it to be street legal in Texas..
I had to add the following equipment:

Full Windshield - (ebay - $300)
2x Mirrors - (ebay - $50)
Golf Cart Turn Signal Kit - (ebay - $180)
Custom PVC Mounts for Turn Signal Kit - (Home Depot - $55)
License Plate Mount and Light - (ebay - $25)
Slow Moving Vehicle Triange Reflector - (Home Depot $15)

I'm still in the process of getting it all wired up... waiting for a warm weekend to finish everything...

Once its done it should meet all requirements to be registered as a LSV (Low Speed Vehicle) in Texas.

TxDMV.GOV - Off-Highway Vehicles

Anyone else have any experience with a street legal gator in Texas? Anything I missed? Any advice on wiring this all up?

I will post photos later once I have everything finished and maybe some photos of the process!

I also purchased a winch.. didn't realize it doesn't have the hardware so I'm waiting for the fairlead, wireless controller, solenoid and wiring I got on ebay to come in so I can finish connecting the winch.

After the winch I was considering other accessories that would be nice on this vehicle.... A gun rack that attaches near the roof would be nice.. can anyone recommend a good unit?
Also interested in adding a snorkel, although I'm not sure if its worth the effort.
Any other cool attachments anyone can recommend? I'd love to add an auto-dump bed as well but I haven't found a good deal on a kit yet.

Currently I'm modifying this Gator to sell it (although I'm seriously considering keeping it as a backup vehicle once its street legal)

If anyone in Texas is interested I'm asking $12,500 as it sits with all components needed to be street legal. This includes the MCO (manufacturers certificate of origin)

Parking Break Fails and Engine Smokes

I have a 2013 550 JD gator. The parking break has broke twice, and the engine smokes (white). It also gets stuck in gear, and it won't take reverse. I am really disappointed with this gator. I also have a 2000 JD gator that is practically indestructible. However, our new gator has turned out to be a piece of crap. Any advice?

Rsx 850 axle

Broke the drivers front axle but I'm not sure exactly when or how. It looks by inspecting the splines that it was a torque issue. Anyone else ever had an issue? I do ride hard, has any installed any after market hardened axles?
