Just purchased a 2014 825i

Power steering
Front protection package with power assist
Rear protection package
Winch
Windshield no scratch poly
Hard top
Back screen
upgraded wheels and tires
Lights on top front and back

Being new to any UTV I am looking for advice, if any needed, on tips for initial care/break in/ don't do this stupid type stuff

Is everyone using the Deere Plus 50 oil? Also, the book calls for 3.4 quarts with a filter change. Has anyone found that this is too much oil?

Half shaft spindle bearing out...:/ metal shavings out the belt housing...HELP

Just tore down my RSX and found metal shavings and a VERY sloppy half shaft spindle that connects to it...My thinking is that it was thrown out and possibly spun the bearing when my front differential messed up on me last week...any thoughts or ideas...maybe even someone that has had this same problem??? If so what could it be and possible cost to repair...thanks y'all anything is much appreciated...:)

Pops into neutral going downhill

RSX 850I I don't really understand the clutch system but when I go down hill the compression helps to slow down, then invariably it pops into neutral and I start to rocket down hill.:eek: I was told to tap the accelerator to get it to go back into compression slow down. That works for about 1/2 second and pops back into neutral and the rocket ride starts . Does this need an adjustment? Also, the gas peddle is not smooth, I barely touch it and it jumps like a racehorse at the gate...Adjustment? :mad:

Looking at rerouting my vent lines tomorrow before making my first big ride Saturday. Anyone know the size of line needed and approximately how much I will need?

Also any additional tips or comments would be nice!

New to Site 855d major engine issues.

Hi yall new to the site and I am starting with a bang. Have a 2012 855d and the engine has seized up and is out of warranty. I removed clutch and head and it still will not turn over with a breaker bar. I think something has come apart in the bottom end. John deere wants $5400 for just a short block. My question is will any other engine other than the 3tnv70-ajuv fit this application or am I going up creek without a paddle.

2011 XUV 825i for sale

Ive got a 2011 John Deere Gator XUV 825i that I'm selling. It has 3000 miles on it and 289 engine hours. I put new tires on it and black aluminum rims about 400 miles ago. here is the list of options that are on it.
Deluxe Grill guard front and rear fender guards and rear bumper
Hydraulic power dump box
turn signals
floor mats
Mauser cab structure, (no doors) and Mauser mirrors on it.
Hella front cab mounted lights
K&N lifetime air filter
Maxxis bighorn 2.0 tires and black John Deere Rims
Sport High-back front seats with seat covers
I also have a new TEAM high performance clutch that comes with the machine. it is not installed.
I am asking $13,000 OBO of the machine.

Frustrated New RSX850i Owner

Hello to all...I genuinely love my RSX850i but am completely frustrated by the lack of support, misinformation, and general lack of knowledge coming from JD and their dealer network about this machine. I apologize in advance for the length of this missive but I'm sure that some of you have encountered some of these issues.
1. The operator's manual has more errors in it than it should. I think JD just took the XUV550 manual and retitled it. Start with fuel capacity. The manual says 6.5 gallons. The correct level is 7.5 gallons. I had this verified by JD customer support.
2. The oil filter shown in the manual is an AM125424. Again incorrect. The right filter is an AM145365 and it took me 3 JD dealerships to find one. One never even heard of it. I order a soft camo top for my unit and the dealer gives me an XUV550 top. Yes it's the same size but a different camo color. I'll keep it. It works.
3. The oil level in the manual (and this is where I lost it) shows the crankcase with filter change to be 3.4 quarts. So at 8 hours after I finally get the right filter and oil, I do an oil change. I must admit that I didn't have the pan drain and filter issues I've seen in this forum. Got them right off. Filled the crankcase to 3.4 quarts and go to start the machine and it won't turn over and the oil pressure light is on. I pull the dipstick and it's obvious 3.4 is too much. The manual is wrong again. :confused:I drain the overage from the crankcase until the dipstick reads right on the full line. How much oil I took out, I don't know. I just kept draining it until I hit the full line. Tried starting it again and it still shows the oil pressure light and won't crank.

Can any of you more experienced owners shed some light on what may be happening here? I've gone thru all of the troubleshooting items and they're all in the green. Any suggestions? Anyone else go thru this after the 1st 8 hour change?

I was out on the beach yesterday. There had been a very high tide because of a storm of the coast. The water wasn't very very deep but it splashed into my intake manifold and stopped me dead in my tracks. After about 5 minutes it started right up again. We drove very slowly and got out of the water. I thought I might add a Snorkel Kit for my 550 s4 but I can't find one on line. If anyone can tell where I might find one I'd appreciate it.

Battery Life

Hello RSX850 members,

I am new to the forum and a new RSX850 owner as of October 2012. I have had all of the recall upgrades. During this past PA winter, I could not start the Gator and come to find out it is the battery. I can jump start it but it will not hold a charge.

Has anyone expereinced a bad battery within 1 1/5 years or a short that may be draining the battery?

Has anyone had any problems with the front diff on the RSX?
I have about 800 miles on mine and the front diff case cracked.

I would like to purchase some accessories from USA for my rsx is there any recommended dealers out there that will freight to Australia for some reason we can only get limited stuff here at what I presume is an exorbident price a camo poly roof is $1100 does that sound right.

JD Gator or Polaris Ranger?

Hi all,

My mother and I maintain our small family farm as a hobby/side venture here in west TN. We raise a few cows and lease our crop ground. We have general maintenance to keep up around the place (clipping, spraying, cleaning up, cutting/removing trees and brush, fencing, feeding, landscaping, etc...).

We've about decided that a UTV would be a handy tool to help us. We've never owned a UTV, but I did have a Honda Rancher ATV when I was younger. I really don't know which is best, but it seems the Gator and the Ranger are two pretty popular machines. After talking to a few people around town and doing some initial research, it seems the Gator 550 and Ranger 570 would be the size people are recommending. I would appreciate your thoughts on which you think would be best or if there is another size/model you would recommend. Please explain your preference.

Are there any accessories you would suggest we should definitely purchase? Should we go ahead and spring for the crew model to seat 4 people? I really don't do trail riding, but may possibly do some in the future when my kids get older.

Would appreciate your thoughts...
