Does anyone know how to stop the CVT in the 850i from getting stuck when switching gears? Often I'll find that I have to rock the vehicle back and forth or slightly rev the engine to get the transmission into the right gear. I've read that this could be an issue with the clutch not fully releasing or a linkage problem? How do I know which one is causing this issue, and how can I prevent it from occurring?

I fixed my cloudy gas gauge
Just FYI if anybody has a cloudy gas gauge.
For some reason, my gas gauge got very cloudy this winter. I could see through it last fall, but it got totally opaque over the winter. I thought that it was fogged from the inside, but no, it was crazed on the outside. It prys out fairly easily. I took a utility knife and scraped off the hazy part. No good. I then sanded with 600 grit paper. Better, but still cloudy. I didn't have any finer paper, so remembered that under our kitchen sink my wife keeps a "magic eraser". I ran it under water and scrubbed. WOW, it's pretty clear. Next, I took some mild metal polish and buffed it. Better than WOW. I think that it's more clear than when new.
No big deal, but better than buying a new one!

Won't start. Just clicks.
Can anyone help. I thought the starter was bad and replaced it but still clicks when I try to start. After I stop trying to turn it over and try again, it doesn't even click. I have to let it sit for a whole to get it to do the clicking again.

Transmission chirp or squeal.....
Hey guys, Im new here and just bought me a 2012 RSX that was a dealer demo with 18hrs and 90miles. I absolutely love it and Ive put 15mi on it and most of it being under 25-30mph doing some horsing around out in the field next to my house. Today I drove it 5miles down the road to a friends house and noticed the smell of oil on a hot surface. When I got there it looked like oil was coming out of the transmission dipstick and also leaking from behind the plastic on the drivers side where you get in the machine. I then pulled the dipstick and it appears the oil level is a good inch above the full range. I assume thats probably the reason its blowing oil out. Now it may just be that Im a little paranoid after seeing oil spew out of my new machine but It seems to me that my transmission has a slight chirp or squeal at low rpms cruising in gear or if you are in neutral at idle. Has anyone noticed this? I wondered if it was the secondary clutch? Im hoping its not the trans.

Orange glow on exhaust!
Drove last night for about and hour and stopped at a friend's house. Was showing him my rsx and lifted the dump bed. On the exhaust at the right side on a braided steel flex line is what I assume to be a oxygen sensor. It was glowing orange. Is this normal? Speed before this was 10-15 mph for about 2-3 miles. Speed before this was 15 miles at 20-25 mph. Was a cool night in the low 50's. Should I freak out?

825i snorkel kit
Just wanted to post some pics up of our snorkel kit we made for our 825i. Works pretty good besides how our starter and alternator went out recently, I suspect due to mud/water in them. The system was made out of 1.5" & 2" PVC just b/c that's what we had around the shop. The belt case exhaust in the rear has to be capped with a smaller diameter outlet to prevent water from getting in and still have enough airflow for cooling, we just capped it at first and burnt a belt with 30hrs. We also siliconed around the seal on the belt case to make sure it sealed. Any questions, just ask.

Rough Idle at start
Has any one had this issue? I have a 2013 825i with about 400 hours, and at start up in the morning it starts right up but the idle really fluctuates quite a bit until after about 2-4 minutes of idling. It almost get low enough on that it sounds like its going to die, but it has not yet. It just seems to be getting worse? Possible bad gas? I only run 91, with no ethanol according to the pump at Fleet farm.

825i brake pedal start mod
Did this mod a couple months ago, don't know if anyone else has done it or not. We broke the gearshift on our gator and the mechanic at the dealer said he's had a lot of them which he suspected was from guys trying to shift to neutral while coasting to a stop (considering you have to be in neutral to restart it). So what I thought was, why can't we make it like the Polaris ranger and just press the brake pedal to start while it's still in gear, cutting your shifting of gears in half. So I talkedd with my mechanic and he said "hell yea, go for it!" And he printed me off a wiring diagram which ill attach a pic of.
The process is really pretty simple. Go under the front hood and remove the storage tray and look at the wires going to the switch on the brake pedal and the wires to the ignition. There should be a purple wire coming from the brake switch labeled '820A' and a purple wire coming from the ignition labeled '710'. All that needs to be done is splice a short jumper between these 2 wires, just 8" of wire and 2 butt connectors (cheap)!! After this you will have to unplug your neutral switch on top of the transmission, if I remember right it's the one closer to the back of the machine(I then siliconed the plugs to keep mud out in case I want to reuse them). If you don't unplug this power will backfeed through the system and turn the brake lights on while your in neutral.

RSX Electrical Problems
Been continuously having electrical problems, every once in a while in deep water my RSX will get a hiccup and die only if you put the pedal to the floor. Like I said its really sporadic and I'm not really too worried about it but was just wondering if anyone else experienced something like this. Now, my main problem that seems to be a consistent plague on my machine is the stator/regulator/charging system. At first it was just mud in the fuse for my regulator and all you would have to do is wiggle the fuse and it'd make connection again and keep working, so then I added some mud flaps and whatnot around the front compartment to seal off the fuse box from any possible mud. Now wiggling the fuse doesn't even work, I've cleaned all my battery connections and checked a lot of different connections and still no luck. The machine will run normally at 12.2 volts and once I turn my headlights on (not even the spot lights) it will run at 11.8 volts which tells me it isn't even trying to charge. I've talked with my dealer and they've got it on the list to get in the shop but with spring rolling around they're busy with oodles of mowers and made it sound like it could be a while till mine gets in. Since my spring fever is kicking in and I really wanna get riding I was wondering if anyone had any ideas to try in the meantime. Any responses are appreciated.

Roll bar gear organizer
I have learned that the gear organizer (in camo) is not currently available from John Deere and wondered if any of you have an after market organizer that you would recommend for the 825i model. My unit will not be delivered for another few weeks so I don't have the roll bar measurements handy for online research. Any info appreciated. Thanks

2001 6x4 Power Lift Problem
The cargo box power lift on my Gator has stopped working. I thought it was the dash switch but changing it did not help my problem. I have looked for a schematic but have not been successful. Also, cannot raise the box with the unit inoperative. Any suggestions or troubleshooting tips.

Sport Steering Wheel
So I went to the Deere dealer today to buy an air filter for the Gator in preparations for my snorkel which should be in Wednesday, and they had a sport sitting out front. I looked at it a little bit and I knew the steering wheels were different but never really paid too much attention to them until today. I really liked it. The steering wheel in the Trails look just like the one on the Deere lawnmower I have so I decided to upgrade. Anybody know where I can find the sport steering wheel ? I wanted to order one today but the salesman was busy and the young boy behind the counter didn't even know what an RSX was and barely found an air filter for me so I didn't bother asking. Think I'll have to buy one from Deere or perhaps I can find one online ?

CV joint???
Hello all, I'm new here as of tonight. My Dad has an 09 xuv, I think 625CCs. Directly under the shift lever, on the floor, under the cup holders there is a CV joint that got very hot and started to leak grease. My question is, how in the world does one get at it? I can just barely see part of it. Looks to be a major tear apart. Anyone understand the one I'm talking about? Probably should get the FSM if I'm going to have to repair it. Thanks, Dave
