Gator clutch belt

I've been reading different forums and am still unclear if the belt should be turning all the time-even when the gator is in neutral. As you might guess, I'm having the traditional issue of grinding gears, on my second clutch, but now I must stop the engine, start it then quickly put into gear. I have to kill the engine each time I move from neutral to either forward or reverse.

Waiting for a magic answer

and yes, I have the idle as low as it will go.

I am thinking on buying a 2012 RSX850i that is still new at the dealers. I am hearing that the 2012s came out with an extended warranty and am wondering if there is any way to find out if this one came with it. The serial number is 1M0850TTCCMO10841 Thanks

825i s4

I was looking to trade my 2012 550 s4 for a 825i s4. I thought the 550 s4 was long but the 825i s4 is 10 inches longer and over 500lbs heavier. I can get one with turn signals and running lights for just under $18,000.00. I'd need to add another $1000 to add the winch and windshield. That's $8000.00 more than I paid for my 550 s4. The bed is steel and being so close to the beach I'm not sure how it would hold up. I like my 550 even though I've had my problems with it. Is the 825i s4 worth it or should I see if the 850i comes out with an s4.

Bought this Worksite gator 4 years ago and I love it. Low hours, lots of accessories, not a scratch on the body panels. Everything works. I replaced the starter. Not finding a lot of info from other owners but the owners manual is available online and JD confirms the serial number as a 2001 manufacture.
Anybody else got one?
Pics later.

Tax and Title AR

Hey guys,

I know every state is different. Hopefully someone from AR can answer this... I got my RSX new from an OK dealer. OK doesn't have sales tax on ATVs UTVs. I got my mso today. I assume if I title it here in AR I owe the sales tax?? I hate to pay it but I suppose I need to title it so I can sell it when ready. Does anyone have a definite answer? $800 is about to go out the door :(

Thanks.

Does anyone have a good used front head for a FD620D? Also a dash warning light lens cover.

Is it possible to shave the cylinder head?

I have a 2002 4X6 gator with a Kawasaki FD620D motor and the previous owner only ran water as a cooling liquid.

Both heads are pitted and have blown the head gaskets.

Is it possible to shave or deck these cylinder heads? If so, how much can you get away with?

About 55 and sunny with a breeze here in central Pa. Took the gator up the mountain roads and did some playing around in the fields.

I got a lot of mods done this past month. Waiting on a set of light clamps to finish everything up. Once I do, be on the look out for new pics!

Suspension Lubrication

I have a 2011 825I with the 14 Zerks for greasing the suspension. I have greased the suspension twice now and each Zerk only takes about 1/8th of a pump before grease starts to squirt out from right behind the bolt head. On my tractor/loader the grease normally squirts out between the bushings, so I am curious if the Gators bushings are clogged.

Does anyone else have the same results greasing their suspension?

Thanks, Dave

825i won't start

Hi, I'm new here but I have an 825i that wont start. It blows the 15amp starter circuit relay fuse under the dash. With the fuse removed and a jumper wire installed in place of the fuse and a clamp on ohm meter installed on the jumper, the circuit is drawing 23.5 amps when the key switch is turned to the start position. Any help would be greatly appreciated and also would anyone have a link to a wiring diagram for this machine?

Glow plugs shot on the diesel XUV. Wow! How do you replace them? They are under what looks like the engine head or valve assembly. The tek manual does not have a section on replacement other then how they work and the electrical drawings.

Smoking Gator HPX

I have a 2004 John Deere Gator HPX and have had a problem this winter. It has been VERY cold here in VT and I had a problem with it smoking like crazy when faced with a load. The 1st time it happened it was 5 below zero. I read this forum and see that short trips are bad. The oil was overfull, so I changed that and the filter today. Unfortunately, the oil was milky grayish. I am not losing coolant. Is it possible that milky gray oil is due to condensation? I mostly short tripped a lot this winter doing a project 200 yards away from the house, so some days it just went up and down with tools and putting around the property. I sometimes let it idle for 15 minutes, but it still never warms up. Just today, I put a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator and ran the heck out of it after I changed the oil, and it seemed OK. Are my problems due to a cold machine?
