I am going to buy a new sxs in the next few weeks after I get rid of my 06 ranger.ride with a lot of other ranger and one can am 1000. From what I've seen I think the RSX can run with the can am and 900 ranger.have you that own them experience riding with other brands and how do your RSX perform.Iam really leaning towards the RSX.

In Bed Sprayer
I bought a 25Gal John Deere in bed sprayer. If you buy one of these throw the directions away. The box is filled 3/16" metal mounting brackets. The directions do not show how to assemble the 25gal sprayer but gives detailed instructions on mounting the the 45gal and the 90gal. These metal pieces are only used for 45 and 90 gallon the 25gal only uses 4 rubber feet. There are no directions on assembling the the boom sprayer but it's easy to figure out. There are no directions on connecting the electrical. I had to make my own 12v adapter it was missing from the box. The little sprayer after shipping costs a little over $600.00. You can buy sprayers that are much cheaper but I made the mistake and thought John Deere would be the best rout. I way over paid. You have to pay for about 50lbs of metal brackets that are useless. The sprayer works great though. It has the wand that will spray up to 30 feet and the boom sprays a 5' swath. The sprayer is perfect for what I need it to do, keep the weeds down in my white rock front yard (about a 1/4 acre). I'm in a wheelchair and my wife has a bad back so something like this tool is a blessing. This is just a picture of the sprayer I'll take some of mine soon. The brakets to hang the boom sprayer were not in the box. There was an angle braket that I could use to hang the boom off the the rear bumper guard. I liked mounting it this way much better anyway. Again no directions for 25gal sprayer.

Two Questions
Looking at buying a new HPX. Two questions, if you could help:
1. The electric/hydraulic bed lift. Is this really necessary, or a nice to have? If the bed is loaded, say with a load of dirt that is close to capacity (1000 lbs), can you reasonably lift it by hand or does it need the electric/hydraulic unit to lift? If you can reasonably do it by hand, then that saves me a thousand bucks almost.
2. Does the diesel engine start pretty well in winter? Really cold temps - like zero? Is there a block heater available for it?
Thanks.
Dave

RSX at St. Joe
I rode St. Joe Park this last Saturday. St. Joe is about 60 mi. south of St. Louis. It has a large sand flat type area that is actually a mine tailings pond and a large trail area that we locals used to call the "Number 9 hills". St. Joe has only two riding conditions; muddy and dusty. This weekend we had rain and mud, and the RSX excelled in those conditions. The snorkel served the machine well.
I had one freak problem. After a mudhole crossing, the engine cut out on one cylinder. I assumed that it was moisture in the electrical system, but upon inspection found that the spark plug wire to the left cylinder had come loose. I snapped it back on and rode several more hours without problem.

420cc Predator engine conversion? or rebuild?
hi all new to forums. got my hand on a 2003 gator 4x4 buddy says the engine is seized up. now im wondering what shaft is on the motor from john deere. would I be able to somehow fit an air cooled harbor freight special to the current drive system? I haven't got a chance to look at the motor at all and need reference before I start spending money. option 2 would be to rebuild it but sadly i cant find any parts online anywhere. a little info would be much appreciated. thanks!

Gator rolls backwards while in forward gear
I purchased a used 2009 Gator 620i a few days ago. While in a forward gear (low or high) traveling up an incline - if I let off the accelerator while still in forward gear and without pressing the brake - the unit rolls backward as if it was in neutral. Also, with the unit in gear while turned off - I can easily push it forward and backward.
Is this common or do I have a potential problem?

Knocking / Tapping in Engine (Engine Area) at Idle
I purchased a 2009 Gator 620i with 300 hours on it a few days ago. I discovered today that there is a loud knocking / tapping noise in the engine or area of the engine at idle. The noise tends to either go away or is masked by the louder noise of the engine revving when I accelerate. The gator runs and operates fine. The unit has a Kawasaki engine.
Any thoughts on the source of the knocking or if this is normal for this engine/model?

XUV550 Oil leak / crankcase pressure
Hi:
New guy here, Frank-in-Tallahassee.
My XUV550, new in August of 2012, 77.4 hours now, has started to smoke. Looked under the bed and seats, and found a bit of engine oil around the dipstick grommet at the block, but it seems to be getting onto the hot exhaust pipe which is quite high up as well. It also seems to me to have a LOT of crankcase puffing, but I don't know what "normal" puffing should be. I was thinking that if it has excess pressure that it might be pushing the oil out. If I spray everything clean so I know it's dry and oil free, and take it for a half mile spin, there is fresh oil around the dipstick base, but it doesn't appear to be anywhere else. Can that are scatter oil up high and onto the exhaust pipe?
It runs fine, and other than the smoke from the oil frying on the exhaust pipe, you would not know that there is anything wrong, so I'm not thinking that it is anything really serious, just a leak somewhere. That said, I hobby in old farm tractors so I have just about every tool, but I am not up to speed on what these B&S Vanguards have for quirks.
Could really use some pointers. And I have to ask...warranty is only 12 months on these, right?
Thanks in Advance!
Frank

Clutch? or Transmission? Slipping ???
Just back from my real first ride on the 2014 825i...
Something is slipping, BAD....In 40 miles it did this at least 15 to 20 times at random....
For those of you who are good "Gator Doctors" I'm going to try and give as many symptoms as I can...
First thing I notice pulling out of my heated shop was that I was almost at max rpm to get going....about 5600 to get out the door. Once I started up the street it seemed to shift up and speed increased. (This is in high range)...
During the ride the rpm would be running around 5300 to 5500 at about 24 -25 mph on the Speedo. Every so often the rpm would surge over 6000 and speed would drop to 20 or less...
At full throttle (hitting the rev limiter) about 6000 rpm....I see only 35 mph max on the Speedo. It does not feel like anything is slipping at that point, it feels more like the clutch is just not shifting up!!!
On return home I look in from the back end, I can see a small amount of snow (almost frost like) inside the plastic clutch housing around the secondary....but the clutch appears warm and dry...
Not sure where to go from here.....Is it a clutch issue or is it possible for something to slip in the transmission/gear case???
Thanks in advance for any input...John

Do I want one?
New to the forum here. I had a Ranger 700 but it was stolen a couple weeks ago so I am looking to replace it. I have been talking to the Guys a John Deere and am planning to Buy a 850i Trail that they have. What do you guys think after running them a while. Should I get one of them? Trying to decide between that and a Polaris Ranger. I use it for field riding and a little pleasure riding. Just kind of an all round utility vehicle on the farm but like to be able to take it into the hills.
