Did some work today on the Gator first thing was the 2'' leveling kit. Here are the measurements.
Stock: Floor to fender 30''
Stock: Floor to floor board: 12 3/4''
Lift on with 26'' tires: Floor to fender 31 3/4'' and floor to floor board was 14 1/4''
Lift on with 28'' Bighorn 2.0's: Floor to fender 32 1/2'' and floor to floor board was 14 3/4''

Insulation and Heater Pictures
There are 5 Photos of what I have done to Insulate and Heat my Gator and they are attached to this thread. The opening in the door I closed with .060 aluminum covered with self adhesive camo vinyl from CAMO4U Catalog. I installed a second muffler from Midas, which I believe is off a Chrysler K Car, I connected that to the original muffler with a modified small U pipe to help reduce noise by at least 30-40%. The Electric fuel injection automatically adjusts for the change. The cab headliner and insulation behind the seats I purchased in bulk from TRACTORSEATS.com, they have all colors and sizes, I used 3M glue to attach to the cab top and roll cage, the stereo also helps hold the insulation up. The piece behind the seat goes the full width of the cab and is loose unattached and held in place by the seats and goes over the air intake and is 2-3" below the bottom of the back of the cab to seal it. These two help with sound canceling and insulation. The Heater came from the same place as cab enclosure which came from UTV Cab Enclosures. With the fan on high you can feel the heat through out the cab. To help the engine warm up faster, which makes the heater heat faster, in the winter I have a piece of cardboard slid between the radiator and the oil cooler in-front of it which I can slide out easily because the engine will over heat after awhile. I have also insulated the sides in front of the doors with the same foam and used in other areas to stop cold air from entering the cab. All of these changes have made a huge difference in noise and over all riding experience for my Gator year around. I hope this info helps!

winch question
Just about ready to order mine just had a couple questions.
1. Is the superatv winch mount plate the same as Deere's or is there a significant difference?
2. I seen on superatv that the biggest winch that will fit in the machine is a 3500. Will they physically not fit or will it just not bolt up?
3. Does anybody know the size winch Deere sells? Or cp guy swears its a 3500 but the book says 3000.
Just wanted to know because I had my eye on a a KFI stealth synthetic 4500. But if that won't work then I'll just get Deere mount and winch as long as its a 3500.

Diamond Plate roof installed!
Got my diamond plate back from the shop the other day. Plate cost about $150 and $50/hr labor @2hrs. Im still trying to figure out how they had 2 hours of labor into making to simple rolls but oh well, im still happy with it.

I could have notched out a recess for the light bracket but really didnt fell like hacking it up. I just rolled it some till it made contact without buckeling in the middle of the roof, still looks fine to me

Making HPX Faster
looking into buying a 2008 hpx and wondered if theres any ways to squeeze a little more top speed out of them it will be mainly used on the farm and cutting wood and doing syurp but would like a little more speed out of it for the odd time I go run trails

New stereo installed on 825i S4
Picked up this sound bar from www.ssvworks.com. It has 4 6 1/2'' Kicker 3-way speakers with built in amp, Ipod hook up,FM radio, and Bluetooth. Also added a second battery under passenger front seat.

Clutch question
Been trying to read between the lines on some concerns users have had with the higher rpm (loud) 825i at low ground speed...does the clutch system operate like a sled and only engage and start turning the secondary on revving the engine?? I thought it would operate the same as my argo and most quads. On the argo, as soon as you start the engine the primary and secondary are spinning and will fully shift up according to engine RPM, in gear or not....Just curious, as to how it operates....my new 825i is at my dealer now awaiting pickup...Thanks

My new ordered RSX is old!
I ordered a new rsx 2 weeks ago. I just got it today and was checing the paperwork and it is a 2013? Says it was built Oct 8th 2013. It has an 020000 serial number instead of the 030000 of the newer ones. This is bull![]()
. Here it is February 2014 and I specificly said I wanted a 2014 that is why I ordered it. Its a model year old. I can't find a year anywhere on my paperwork. I kind of feel slided on this. I should have got a freshly built machine right off the line. What can I do? Are there any disadvantages to it being the older model? Have there been any refinements since it was built? Is this why JD threw out that 1K rebate, 2 yr jdesp warranty and 0 for 36 just to get rid of a bunch of units in a warehouse? Can I take it back? To top it off the back side of the roll bar on the passenger side is all gouged up. I got it friday to do some snow riding this weekend but there it sits in the garage with all but 2 miles on it. Im scared to take it out for fear they won't do anything about all this.

850d d for dog?
Hi all, newbie here. Our club (snowmobile) bought a 13 850d with tracks for trail work, shuttling in tools and people for trail maintenance etc. I have 2 questions, 1 is; What setting would I use for the speedo to calibrate for the tracks? and 2; is there a clutch adjustment to allow this machine to pass someone walking? This thing is way too slow in my opinion. Thanks in advance. We love this machine, hoping it's an adjustment issue and not a normal condition.

Gator Fever Finally Got To Me!
Well it finally got me-Gator Fever, that is. I have been wanting to get a Gator for a long time for spraying and maintaining our home place where we are trying to restore the pastures to eventually cut for prairie hay.
The fever only got worse after we got a Gator up at our family farm. We had been using a Yamaha Big Bear for checking fences, spraying and general chores and it served us well but was limited to one person at a time. And my Bride refused to operate the Big Bear but took to the Gator at the farm immediately.
It only took about a year of not having a Gator here at home, and my Bride was on board for our own. We really liked the RSX 850, but bought another XUV 825i like the one we have at the farm because of the bigger payload for spraying and hauling. We got the full deluxe cab and doors, electric dump, lights and the full factory snow plow which I've used several times this winter. It's great to be out of the wind!
And my Bride loves it. She really likes the bed, and especially the electric dump. We ask ourselves why we waited so long to get it!
Reading this forum helped with deciding what options to get and for ideas on how to customize ours, so thanks to everyone for helping us get here.

Demo Day at Trenton
he guys i figured id share my experience with a '12 RSX that i demoed from my dealership. seeing as how the RSX has yet to truly take off in the UTV world i figured id see how it was and possibly buy one. the first chance i had to use it was to help clean up with the DU hunt we had.i had noticed how nice it rode and how it was fairly easy to steer the bed made things really nice when throwin used shells in the back. i was also seeing that even tho it was wet from the rain we had it had a very little foot print in the field. the real test came sunday when i really got it out in the open. having my friend ride my rincon we went toe to toe in wat they could go through. now my rincon had 29.5 outlaws and a snorkel so the water riding wat out of the question since the gator was stock. to my surprise the rincon couldnt go anywhere the gator couldnt follow. the gf has fallin in love with the RSX and i have definately turned to looking forward to representing deere when i do decide to pull the trigger. all in all the RSX is everything iv been looking for in a SxS. it has a great amount of power to the ground and it also has the best pulling 4x4 iv seen and i tried it out good trust me. it handles good and i never felt out of control and for me that is a must. John Deere has produced a great vechicle and i hope to be able to give yall more stories as i go from looking at one to ownign one and on to adding all the goodies i want to make it one bad machine over what it already is.:)
