Thing about it!

Ok, so I am new, and this is my first post, and I don't own one yet. Hopefully not everyone will ignore my post, but honestly I am looking for some information.

I recently bought a 800 RZR EBS/EPS (abouta month old), nice vehicle for the person that like to let it all hang out, but there are several things I really don't like about it.

SO while at the JD dealer picking up parts for my tractor, I spotted one of the RSX sport models. I actually liked the looks of it, I also like a lot of things, like the doors, and the 2 inch receiver, bigger bed, etc.

While every single one of these sxs have their little issues, quirks, and whatever someone can complain about, I would really like to know what are some of the things you don't like, or you this is odd, pretty much anything.

I am honestly thinking about trading the RZR just because I don't like the Engine Braking System, I can't tell you how many 180's I have done because of it locking the rear wheels when you let off the gas pedal. I also don't like the on-demand AWD, for me when I push the button to engage the front wheels, I want them engaged, not when the rear wheels start to spin.

If you would, even if it is petty, what is it you don't like about RSX? What are some of the quirks? If I am going to take a loss on my RZR, I at least would like to make sure I am doing an upgrade and not getting a similar set of problems.

Thank you

Brian

I have owned my gator for about 3 months now and have only one complaint, the added nerf bars are totally weak. I do some rock crawling and have bent them every time out. After trying to straighten them and could not do to very thin pipe I decided to build new ones. I would recommend building your own instead of buying the weak John Deere ones.

Ive got an 825i with about 2200 miles on it. Im about ready for tires. I was wanting something taller than what came on it. I was also wanting something like an all terrain that also wears good on paved roads. I use it for work in the oil and gas industry, alot of rough terrain hills and mud. I average about 30 miles a day on it.

New 825i S4 - Time to start adding on....

My father and I picked up a new 825i S4 a couple of weeks ago from the dealership. We were there to look at the 550 S4, but after driving both, we agreed that the 825 would suit us best.

I live on a creek bed, and the terrain is quite steep. We wanted something for hunting, filling feeders, checking cameras, and driving down the dry creek bed and drinking a few cold ones.

I like the extra seating, and extra storage the S4 provides, but I definitely had to open up the trails. We were using a golf cart type hunting buggy before that was 48" wide.

Anyways...I got a bunch of goodies in, and can't wait to start putting them on. My father is coming up for the weekend, and I am sure we will get most of it knocked out.

I'll post pics when complete. Can't wait to test out the Silent Rider for the exhaust. I slipped it on for a moment and you could really tell the difference. I may post a youtube video of this if anyone is interested.

Question on value of 2004 HPX 4x4 gator

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum! I am going to bid on a gov't surplus John Deere HPX 4x4 Gator with gasoline engine. It has 1700 hrs on the gator. I've always wanted a gator and this could be a chance to be able to afford one. However, I don't have a clue what I should bid. What would be a good range for the value on this? It's in decent shape and seems to run good. I'm purchasing "as is".

825i Running Rich!! HELP!!

My 2011 825i has never given me any problems until now. It takes it a little longer to actually crank up and when it finally does it spudders for a min. Once you go it runs perfect no problems. Also when it does finally crank it has a strong gas smell. If you get off and leave it running and walk behind it, it has an eggy smell to it. It always cranks, just spins over for too long and then only spudders for a few seconds but like i said runs great once you go. I just changed the plugs, wires and air filter. I was told it could be my fuel pressure regulator so I just installed a brand new one and also put a new fuel filter on it. It was better for probably 4 cranks then right back to messing up. It just acts like its flooding or something.

Rebuild your Gator clutch!!!

A friend of mine is working on a 2wd Gator I got as a trade-in on another one I sold a woman and ran into some problems with the clutches on it. So, in so far as he just lost his job he's thinking about making and buying the necessary tools to rebuild these clutches and setting up shop.

As for pricing I would think that he should be able to rebuild a primary clutch for around $180-$200, including labor. If he can locate a good source for parts he might even include free return shipping to you!!! Considering what they're getting for a new one I would think that this would be a really good deal.

If your Gator trans is grinding when you try to put into gear THIS is what it needs. There's probably nothing wrong with the transmission itself.

He's already buying the tools so he can fix both my clutches.

Please send your votes to pbbm@comcast.net and I'll relay your response to him.

Thanks for your interest.

Super ATV Lift

Installed RSX 2" Lift from these guys last night...Install was simple...I am concerned about the angle of the rear axle and upper and lower ball joints...So in the rear you are basically cranking your preload from 2" (factory) to 4" with spacer...Has any one else used this setup and have you had any problems? What kind of driving and haw many miles since you installed it?

Extended warranty no longer available for rsx850?

I was on the fence on buying a rsx until I asked how much for a extended warranty and was told by dealer that John Deere doesn't offer extended warranties for the rsx850i. Some here on forum say they have purchased them so I'm confused. Did John Deere stop offering them on the rsx850i. If so that's a huge red flag and I think I'll steer clear of the rsx850i. I tried to configure one on John deere s web site and sure enough extended warranty was not available.
