2009 620i surge, balk at low speed

I have a 2009 620i with only 300 hours on it. I use it primarily for pasture maintenance and fence work. When spraying brush I will be going slow, almost a crawl, stop frequently and spray and then go again. After doing this for about 30 min to an hour the engine will like surge, almost falter, go, surge, falter etc. If I stop what I am doing and run it full tilt for a short time it will work fine at the stop and go for a while and then start up again. When it is doing the surge, falter routine the oil light will go on and off.
Been to the dealer and they are no help. Said to use high octane gas. Did and still doing it. Now suggesting a heavier wgt oil. That doesn't sound right.
Has anybody had this experience and if so how did you fix it. I really need this beast to work.

Fuel Problem on Gator 625I

Hello all

I have a 2012 John Deere Gator 625I and it only has 20 hours on it. We were driving it full speed up a hil and all of a sudden with no sputtering at all it bascially lost power and shut off. I took off the fuel filter hose and no gas is coming from the full tank to the filter, the plus is dry, and i cant hear the fuel pump when i turn the key over, My question is, is there a fuse near the pump? I would have thought if the pump went bad it woulve had a little sputtering. It is still un der warranty but its like 30 miles from a dealer, so trying to look at all options since the warranty doesnt cover tranporting it, any suggestions what to look at?

Bought a 850 and stopped by the dealer awhile back with the gift card deere mailed and a check to purchase extended warranty. Got a call back that deere does not offer extended warranty on RSX's sold to a farm / no sales tax and they are returning my check. If I had paid sales tax no problem with getting extended warranty?????? Anyone else run into this

I have a 4X2 Gator and want to order the manuals for it but am not sure what year it is and what manuals I need to order. I found a list of serial numbers on another web site but it did not list my range. The PIN is W004X2X006044.

I'm new here to the site and have a question for you guys and gals. I recently received my 2013 825i the other day. I bought it with the poly roof, glass front windshield, and poly rear panel with a sliding window. I use my gator to check irrigation wells so I do a lot of driving on gravel roads. After driving it for a few days I noticed that the dust is pretty bad inside the cab. I can tell that the dust gets sucked in and hangs there. I was wondering if I would take off the rear panel, if that would solve my problem or make it worse. Does anyone else have this issue and if so how did you fix it?

Utility Light, and Fire Extinguisher Mounts

Hi All. Here are a couple of "Need to Have", and "Nice to Have" Items I made up for the "Ridge Runner". Brackets and mounts for a fire extinguisher, and a utility light. The brackets were made using some 1" x 3/16", and 1 1/2" x 1/8" flat bar, and the aluminum brackets are modified "Pro-Werks" nitrous bottle mounts. The light is a 30 LED unit by Voltec, and the extinguisher is a "1 pounder" dry chem. by MaxOut. Hope to use the light much more than extinguisher! mountaingoat.

6x4 plow mounting

I have a 2003 gator 6x4 and would like to install a plow. Dealer wants 2,000! can anyone suggest an alternative and or send pictures of mounts. thank you.

2013 RSX 850i Shifting Problems

I'm new to John Deere products and just bought a new Gator RSX 850i I really like the looks and the way it rides but after only having 20 miles on it ran into problems with it shifting from forward to neutral and also shifting out of reverse. I have had it back to the dealer twice the primary clutch has been replaced and the last time they shimmed the clutch alignment neither of these things have solved the problem at this point I regret purchasing this machine it is a nice machine but if it won't shift in and out of gear properly it may as well be a boat anchor very disappointing to spend this kind of money on something that John Deere can not identify the problem and get it fixed. :mad: Does anybody out there know a fix for this problem?

Howdy everyone,

My name is Josh, I just moved to Oklahoma from Colorado this summer. I just stepped into this Gator world last month when I saw the new XUV and I just started thinking of all the things I could do with a machine like that. I don't own a Gator yet, but I'm hoping to buy an 825i within the next year.

I registered at johndeeregatorforum.com before I found this site. I thought I'd jump in here and learn all that I can from this forum before I buy one for myself. Let me know if anybody on here is in the somewhat local area, I'm in southwest OK. Thanks!

2012 xuv 550

At 40 hours I had the head gaskets replaced and at 70 hours the carb had "debris" in it. I use the same gas can and run ethenol free fuel. There was no debris in the fuel filter or gas tank. Got it back form the dealer and it runs fine , but how the heck did stuff get in the carb? Anyone else experiencing these problems with the vangaurd motor? I love the machine, but am concerned about its future if I'm having these issues so early.Any feedback would be greatly appreciated .

625i Alternator

I want to upgrade the Alternator in my 625i to a HD Model First I cannot locate an Alternator on my engine... manual states it has a 25 Amp Alternator. Nothing on the Internet to help. I asking for some help in 1 - finding it, or is it possible to add on a HD Alternator without major modifications to the engine.

I have about 8 hours on my new 825i so when I recently filled up the tank for the first time the gas gauge read about 3/4 full. Anyone else had this problem? Is it just something you live with? Thx

Badlands 2000 Winch

I have a 550 S4 and I decided to mount a Badlands 2000lb Winch my daughter gave me. The plate on front of the 550 only needed the holes drilled out to 1/2" to except the stainless bolts I bought. The mounting plate, I bought on the Harbor Freight site for less than $4.00, also needed to be drilled out. I also had to extend the cables to reach the battery under the back seat. I really didn't expect much from this $79.00 winch. I had a couple of diseased Sago Plams my wife wanted removed. I told her why not try out this winch. We hooked up this winch using a snach block and a tree saver strap also bought from Harbor Freight. With the 550 running and foot on the break we started the winch. The 550 S4 weighs over 1400lbs. This little winch drug the Gator accross the cement driveway with the wheels locked. We ended up having to jerk the tree out. I have 3/16 synthic rope on the winch now I figured the little guy deserved it. This said this little winch is incredible it's slow but but moves a lot of weight. Very Pleased

Hey guys, new to the site. Just picked up a 1997 6x4 gator CHEAP with a unknown problem. But got it figured out, busted cam gear. But i've got it torn apart and all the parts are ordered and should be back together next week. I'm new to the gators but I'm learning quick. And hoping to learn more from the site.

Guys,

I haven't had much luck figuring out pricing on used Gator.

Currently I'm looking at 2012 Camo XUV 550 S4 4x4 with roof/the better wheels with 90 hours that was just serviced by the dealer and the guy wants $9600. Any opinions on this price?
