I am trading my 625i for an 825i (I really want the power steering!). Can someone tell me why it will take until September to get the new unit. JD has a $500 off promotion during May and they can't produce a machine for 4 months. That just doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

I just picked my new Gator today. Had a 2007 Gator CX with 1600+ hours and well used. Decided on something a little bigger and better.

Quite a step up from an open air CX to the deluxe cab 625i. This will come in handy on the farm better than the old CX.

Winch on sport model?

Anyone installed a winch yet on the sport model? I purchased the winch and the front receiver but the instructions appear to be for a different model of gator. The dealer assures me that it's the correct kit so I'm guessing it just doesn't include instructions yet for the rsx. The other thing is that the kit comes with a remote dongle to operate it, I'm wondering if this is how it is on the trail model or if there is supposed to be a dash mounted button. I really don't want the dongle/remote for the winch hanging inside I'd like to have the in dash switch. Anyone have a trail model with the winch that can comment on how it's setup?

General RSX 850i questions

:cool:Just purchased a new RSX 850i Trail model several weeks ago and have a few questions can someone tell me where the battery is located and how to get to it? The driver’s seat rises up but the passenger seat will not. Is there a different release for the passenger seat? Other than these minor issues it’s a great machine. One more question about the 850i, the owner’s manual recommends John Deere 0 – 40w oil however my dealer said I should use 15 -40w after the first oil change. Is my dealer correct in telling me this?

Can 16 HP 550 S4 pull hills?

I am considering purchasing an XUV 550 s4 Gator but I am concerned the 16 hp engine may not pull 4 people comfortably on uphill trails. I don't need to go fast but just want to move steadily up the trail without having to charge and gun the engine to make it up. Can anyone PLEASE tell me if they have experience with this issue and if the 550 s4 did the job? Desperate to make a decision soon!! THANKS!!!!!!

New tire Question

Hey my names Brian. I'm new to the forum and the SxS community. I just bought my Gator Rsx850 Thursday of last week and love it. I have one problem however, after taking it on the trails with my brothers Teryx and a few other friends in a Rhino and Ranger it become apparent that I didn't have as much ground clearance as I'd like to have. I've lifted my shocks some and now I'm looking for some new tires. Preferably the Moto mtc tires. But It's hard finding a tire in a 28 that is 8 inches wide. I'm just curious if I can run a 9 or 10 inch wide tire in the front and maybe an 11 in the back. It's just an inch or so wider than the stock bighorns but I'm scared it'll hit my control arms. I want to keep the stock deere wheels and Id really rather not use a spacer. Are any of you running larger aftermarket tires with these specs?

Hi,
I'm a new member. I have been looking for reviews on the HPX 4 x 4 and not finding much. What I have found is a few horrible reviews. I am considering a purchase and I was wondering if anyone can provide some feedback? I have looked at the specs and it would meet my needs but could use some input. Thank You!!

Thank everyone for their time in this wild goose chase. I have given all the information I can. I have looked at pictures and it resembles a TX 4X2 Gator. It was a plain Jane model for sure. It had a OSHA approved roll bar on it. Dash board had three circles in the instrument panel. There again the serial number is W04X2"3,8,9"D049485. So now I have to say UNCLE. Once again Thank You For Your Time.

Finally Put Some Miles On

Well finally got the Gator out for a trail ride up north on the weekend and can honestly say there is nothing that didn't impress me. First day we rode a lot of rock and elevation, fairly technical with a lot of climbing, not a lot of water or mud but a good ride. The Gator operated flawlessly and only put it in 4 wheel drive for some of the water holes as I wasn't sure of the bottoms but otherwise it climbed some pretty steep and often loose hills without spinning a tire. The second day was a lot more rock climbing and water holes and again barely used 4 wheel drive, one hole my wife got in with her RZR she had to be pulled out, I drove in with the Gator, spun the tires a bit, backed right back out took anther run and walked right through, this thing is an animal and practically unstoppable. I was truly amazed at what it would climb over and go through in 2wd, my wifes RZR was spinning tires and the Gator would just walk over it, really impressed and pleased. The only changes I would ask for would be a better gas pedal setup as my legs are rather long, I'm 6'4" and I find the pedal is to close for me so my foot cramps up on a slow ride and after riding rocky terrain power steering is a must, had the steering wheel ripped out of my hands 3 times so I'll be looking at aftermarket setups for it. Gator has to go back in to the dealer for a few PIPS so I will have them look it all over, as the warranty runs out next month, and make sure nothing is bitched, there were some pretty hard bangs from underneath. All in all very pleased with the gator for sport riding and work, worthwhile investment.

OK, I changed my oil and filter today, the owners manual states 3.4 gts. with filter change, OK, I start to fill up the oil tank with oil and all of a sudden it overflows oil out of the top of tank, WTF, I do not have 2 gts.into tank and oil is running out the top, I started the engine for a split second to see if it would go down once the filter filled up with oil, no change, still at the top of fill neck, that's it I stopped and will call dealer tomorrow.
I can't think of anything I screwd up, just not sure what the hell is going on,, HELP.
Thanks

XUV 550 Transmission Issues

$

Good Afternoon All!

New the the forum so here goes. I purchased an XUV 550 new in March of this year with 5hrs on it for use as a weekend toy as well as getting around our neighborhood(golf course). We have really enjoyed the machine for the most part. It does everything and more that we need it to and is the perfect size for our purposes. Before purchasing, I asked the salesman if they had seen any issues with this machine as it was fairly new to the gator line up. His answer was of course "no issues at all". When he dropped it off, he mentioned that I may need to bring it in to have the cables adjusted for the transmission, and said it was due to stretching after breakin. I was good with that. I began noticing almost immediately that when shifting from fwd to reverse in 4X4 that it wouldn't do it most of the time and took a "special touch" to get it moving again. Since, the transmission issue has become much more prevelant to the point where I took it in to get serviced with 27hours on it. The dealership called today and told me to come and pick it up after having it for 1.5wks and told me it wasn't fixed because they didn't have a solution from John Deere yet as to what was causing the shifting problems. I have had great experience with John Deere products previously, and have some close friends with 825i's that have over 2k miles that run like new. It is very alarming to me that a major issue occured with this thing with 27hrs on it and there is no solution. Has anyone experienced or heard of similar issues? If so, what was the resolve?

RSX850i Full cab

Ive recently purchased a new Camo RSX850i Trail, And ordered the Full cab from John Deere with it. I don't see any talk of it on here, or anywhere online at all. Not even a picture.
Was wondering if anyone is interested? I love it.....works great and is sealed well. Spacious and well engineered.
Ive also ordered the heater kit from the 825i Gator deluxe cab option. And got it custom installed to fit my 850i. There is no heater as of yet designed to fit the RSX850i's.
I live in Canada on a Farm and run our gators all year round everyday. John Deere is built strong and will last through your everyday work. I drive them Hard and really put them through the test. Very Pleased.
