Light bars vs trad lighting?

$

Trying to learn about Cree lighting, light bars, amp draw, wattage, lumens etc....

Questions?

Where is everyone placing their light bars? Above or below the roof line? I assume with mounting below there will be a lot of glare on a windshield.

How big can I go? 40" is what I'm seeing most other brands running. I'm sure a 30" would be enough in reality.

In regards to my stock battery and charging system, how much is too much?

Planning speakers/amp front light bar and maybe rear flood light. Winch and additional spotlight may be in my future as well

XUV 625i revving problems

Hey, I have a 625i that starts fine and runs fine. But when you put it in neutral after it has been in either forward or reverse it revs up like crazy. It sounds like you are holding your foot on the gas. It doesn't happen when I start it up and it is in neutral, only after it has been in gear. If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Taylor

New from Pittsburgh with questions.

Hey guys, I just picked up a heavily used 6x4 for the fire department I'm a part of right outside of Pittsburgh PA. I got the gator for $2,000 and a list of things that need done to it. It has 1500 hours on it, and tons of rust. I plan on fabbing a new dump bed up, and cleaning up all the rust on the frame and repainting it. It feels like it runs solid, but does leak oil. The previous owner said it was from the oil pressure switch needing replaced. He supplied me with a new one (part #M152192) so I guess I'll need to get around to doing that. If anyone has done it, any tips or pointers would be greatly appreciated. The serial number is: W006X4X019964 if anyone knows what year this could be that'd be awesome. I tried looking it up, but it seems I'm looking in all the wrong places. I'm excited to learn about this platform and hopefully meet some knowledgeable people. I'm hoping I can get this thing in great shape so I don't get hosed for buying a "lemon".
Thanks in advance!
Roy

No power to fuel pump or warning lights

I have a 2007 620i and I am not getting any power to my warning lights or fuel pump. Thoughts? Before this happened I was blowing fuses to ignition due to a corroded fuse but after replacing all of the fuses in the fuse block it started and was fine a couple of times but now I am getting the above problem. Checked bulbs and they are good and used meter to check power to fuel pump and I am getting none?

Thanks

Winter use (with tracks)?

I'm considering the RSX (as well as Can Am Commander) for use as a snow groomer (leveling out ski / snowmobile trails). I would go for the 825i, which is a good proven design, but it is too wide for my trail system.

Is anyone here grooming snowmobile or ski trails with their RSX, or used it for winter hauling / freighting? (or ice fishing:) )?

A quick search seemed to turn up a few folks that had purchased tracks, but mostly for winter use to get somewhere, not to pull / tow something.

I'm also curious about the relative noise level in a cab (vs. Commander or other)... that is the one big negative I seem to keep reading about the RSX (how loud it is).

Thank you for your time and sharing your experiences!

Hi all! Anyone tired of wrestling with the Clevis Pins on the 550 brush guard? Here is a nifty little fix. These are spring latches sold by J W Winco on-line. Just flip them foreword drop the guard, then back up, and flip back! No sore fingers, shaking the guard back and fourth, or lost pins! the part # Type- B 722.2-14-20-B-SW.

Drive belt spinning in neutral and optional oil filter

New member looking for any help!

My father and I recently purchased a traditional 2003 4x2 gator. When we shift from neutral to forward or reverse there is a grinding sound. When we raised the bed, the drive belt continually spins in neutral. Is there an adjustment either in the clutch or transmission that allows the belt from stop spinning? Our thought is this is the cause of the noise. Drive belt feels loose however there must be enough friction between the clutch to spin the belt.

Also we searched and looked online to find out the engine oil filter is optional. Where is the optional oil filter placed if we purchase the kit? Also is it necessary? All of our tractors, skid steers and atvs have oil filters. Seems weird it would be optional on this machine.

Lastly is there is a transmission oil filter? Again couldn't find one and seems odd not to have one.

My apologies for the long post, any information would be much appreciated.

Thank you for your time,
Tom

Help! Gator with Kawasaki engine quits after warmup

$

I have an early 1990's Gator AMT 626 that has started an odd problem that results in the engine dying after it has warmed up for awhile. It will not restart until it has sat for a bit and cooled off. Then it starts and runs and warms up and dies again, etc. Could an ignition coil or something be failing? The dying is getting more frequents after warmup.

Thanks for your advice.

Rust Bucket.

So I purchased this thing for $2,000 not really taking an in depth look at how severe the rust really was. Today marks the first day of the "restoration" of this thing. It's a 1996 so I guess for just shy of 20 years this is expected. I'll keep this thread updated with pictures of the progress. The only thing keeping me motivated is that the motor runs strong, so yeah.

hello people
well I must say this 850i trail w/power steering is quite impressive (owned 5 rangers before) the ride ,the power, the comfort is spot on. Had my friends rip it (owners of rzrs, commanders, rhinos,) they all said the same thing. Once John Deere refines this thing LOOK OUT!!!
some of the issues I have are the cab noise(mines fully cabbed)
ground clearance- there could be more (stock)
can we get rid of the governor?? ( is it possible??) the Ranger 900 can do 60mph why cant this??
and finally...............
at least key the thing so my brothers Z trac lawn mower key wont strart it..................TRUE STORY:eek:
I think JD has a lot of potential in the sport /utility segment , I cant wait to see what they got in the wing for the pure sport segment!

I have a 2013 825i and the front stock shocks squeak over any little bump. Is this normal, or are they possibly shot?
