Engine sound

Got a 2014 825i and something strange happened yesterday. Was driving it about 30 mph and when I stopped it was so quiet thought the engine must have died.. ?? NO it was still running when I accelerated that DEEP sounding moan was gone, it accelerates normal no skipping but all of a sudden just got very quiet exhaust wise. My question is this normal during break in? I say break in because being a 2014 its got 600 miles and 193 hours is all... Would like some feed back if anyone else has had this occur.
Thanks in advance!

Gator --front rack??? for hunting & farm use~~

I have had a couple DIY front racks on "off road golf carts" and wanted to put one on my 2005 JD Gator HPX 4x4 to put a few things on it while working on the farm or deer lease. BUT with hood opening ,,,,looks like it world be a lot of problem to build one that would swing back out of the way to open hood. It has a Reese type hitch under the winch ...thought about building a portable rack to fit in there...any suggestion or has anyone built something like this?? or found a one to buy online that works well for them?? THANKS~~~

Fluid Change Tips !

I'm going to change fluids in both front differential and rear transaxle soon. I have tons of tools, floor jack and stands so that's not an issue. I think I'll remove the front skid plate to make it somewhat easier and then get a pump that screws into the quart of fluid to refill it !! Not a lot of space to0 work so any tips will be appreciated !! TIA, Craig

Idle speed & electrical help

Alright guys reaching out for some help here. Just obtained an old gator, 2000'ish 4x2, that is in need of love, time, money and parts... I am methodically making my way through this thing to square it away for service at my home. With the help of this forum ive drained the fuel tank, put in fresh gas, new fuel filter, new air filter. removed all body panels, thorough cleaning which took a full day of very disgusting work.

Today I plan on doing oil, transmission fluid (adding pemo friction modifier for wet brakes), and attempt to trouble shoot two issues that are at the top of the list....

The idle:
The machine grinds when it goes into gear, you really have to forcefully move the shifter, in and out of gear. if i choke it to lower the idle, it shifts butter smooth. when i look at the carb (FE290D) there are really only two screws that will move levers. the throttle is not resting on the stop for the idle adjustment screw to do anything. it is a hair off that screw, so turning the screw will only raise the idle. if i push the lever over towards the screw (stretching the spring slightly) the idle comes down and everything seems fine. i have no idea how to lower the idle without stretching one of the springs (which i wouldnt do).

I thought about removing the carburetor and giving it to a small engine shop for full cleaning but i am afraid to disturb the seals and not be able to obtain new ones for a machine this old.

Onto the electric situation:
Sometimes there is no power to the headlights or parking brake lamp up front. I can jumper the plug for the headlight switch and it doesnt do anything. I check the + feed to the headlight switch at the plug while grounding on the frame, sometimes there is no voltage. When the headlights dont work, the parking brake light does not work either. i turn the machine off or wait a while, everything works again. I assumed it might have be voltage regulator, but i do get 13 volts at the headlight plug when they feel like working. after searching around here I thought maybe i should replace the ignition switch?

Parking brake

Anybody come up with a fix for the parking brake yet? Mine is trashed again. I had the cable replaced within the first two weeks, been adjusted three times since, and now they're telling me my cable is stretched to the max and no adjustments left and no warranty to replace or fix. Said if they tighten it again, the cable will snap, and if they replace it again, it will just stretch again after a couple months. Not happy at all. It won't even hold on any incline....not even a small incline at the gas station!! I have to carry a chalk with me and chalk the wheels every time I stop. Anybody come up with anything at all on this?

Hi,
New member here and will be looking for some help.
I just found a good deal on an RSX 860i gator, With power steering.
Not the fanciest model but for the price I know I can add the other goodies later as needed.

Had a Rhino before so this isn't my first UTV but I am pretty excited about it, So far it looks like it is hard to find accessories unless you want to pay for the John Deere ones, Not much aftermarket stuff out there.

Hey guys, first post here!!

Been doing a lot of reading on this forum. Great info on here! Can I please get your advice on the following?

1. What is the best clutching advice for 28" tires? EPI? Custom work? Any others to recommend?

2. I read in a few threads that guys were talking about getting their ECU's flashed with the RSX860 data. Has anyone done this? How did it work?

Thanks a lot.

Chirping problem on intake

I've been having problems with it idling bad and stalling after my last ride. I originally thought it was a foul plug so replaced and no luck than thought bad fuel no luck rather after putting sea foam in the tank. The weird part is after it warms up some it runs fine.

Now the weird part is I noticed a chirp sound also but it would go away and than the thing would run good so I looked over exhaust and no leaks. Sprayed the intake area with brake cleaner to see if it would rev up no luck. I ended up finding the boot after the throttle body is where the noise is coming from. I can change the pitch and make it stop and start by moving it while running. I did take the throttle body off and loosened the clamps and moved it around some than re tightened and still get the same noise.

I'm thinking the rubber boot is messed up. Anyone else have this happen.

RSX 850i no spark on one cylinder

Our 850 would start fine, then after warming up would start running on only one cylinder. It did this for about a week then dropped that cylinder all together. Took it to the dealer and said that the coil was not working. So I replaced the active coil (coil with 3 wires) the spark plugs and the wire. I am still not getting any spark to that cylinder. Checked for voltage going into the coil and I'm getting constant 12v on the orange wire, and nothing on the other two. Any ideas?
