Best source for replacement 3TNV70 Engine?

I'm helping my dad find a replacement engine for his 2008 XUV 850D Gator. What's the best (cheapest) source for a new 3TNV70-BJUV engine?

I've seen a few on eBay, but was hoping someone might know a "more economical" source. Deere gets $5,413.00 for the MIA882683 - Short Block Assembly, and that's quite a bit more than we were hoping to pay.

Also - Does anyone know why JDParts.com won't let me select MIA10852 - Engine? I assumed this was a complete engine, instead of the short block assembly. I can add the complete engine to my cart, but when I go to checkout it changes it to the MIA882683 - Short Block Assembly.

Here is what we are replacing:
Engine Family — 8YDXLO.85V3N
Engine Model — 3TNV70-BJUV
Engine Serial # - XCH3009D903092XD
Deere Part # - MIA 10852

2014 xuv550 clutch issues

New to this forum, thanks in advance for any help. Quick back story. Bought my xuv550 gator brand new at the beginning of 2014 to ride around on my property. It was fine for around a year and a half then I started to have shifting problems. Hard to shift, having to shut engine off, etc. I'm sure everyone has heard about this. It got to the point where it was very hard to shift and it has been sitting for several months. I got some time off so I decided to look into the problem. I researched online and saw where this was a very common problem but could never find a good fix. I called my dealer and they said this model had issues with the primary clutch and it probably needs to be replaced.
Here's where I hope someone can help me out. The Gator only has 85 hours on it. I'm sure by now the solution to this problem has been found. Do I need to replace the clutch? Can the one on it be rebuilt? If so, who can rebuild it? I really hate to drop $400 on a new clutch unless I have to.
Almost forgot, I did remove the belt and gator shifted through gears smoothly. So it's not shifting cables, which dealer said had been a problem too.

Obnoxious motorcycle ads

Ok...I know ads are a fact of life and the site needs to be paid for however the pop-up ads with sound are truly obnoxious. There does not appear to be a way to block such content which should be considered for those users like me who have zero interest in the given subject....think about it. The click bait teasers also are NOT a step forward as touted in the new site introduction....simply cheapens the entire experience.

Thank you

Honest Review of 590i

I bought a Gator 590i in July 16, to replace a 550 I had. The new engine with double the HP and FI was a great improvement. It will go 50 MPH on a good hard dirt road, and I have climbed steep hills with two people and two deer loaded at the same time with no problem. I have 1700 miles on it (mostly in the woods and trails) and have no complaint with the power and performance of the 590i. The only real issues are with the little things that keep breaking. I have replaced the shift cables twice, the fuel gauge quit working after about 500 miles and the parking brake no longer works. I am also the in the unfortunate circumstance of having a very poor local JD Dealership (SunSouth of Columbus, GA). The parts dept is especially bad. If I ask the parts manager a question he can't answer, he just laughs in my face and walks away. All in all though, small problems aside, the Gator 590i is a really nice machine and does what it was designed for. It handles very steep ditches, streams, etc. without complaint.

2000 EGator 48V Dump Bed not working

This is a 48V system manual TM1766. The dump be is not working or works once a while. I am struggling to follow the wires to test because they split inside of the casing. Should one of the wires read 48V on the solenoid or should it read 24 then when completed read over 48 to trigger? The manual says everything should read 48 but im not sure if that's combined or power to ground on each of the wires coming out.

I tested the Red wire under the drivers seat that runs to the front and it reads 48V but then when i get under the hood i can't find any wires reading 48v.

Now I just also found the lights are not working. I took the switch out and its a problem with the switch, i am going to replace the switch tonight and see if that fixes the head lights. It failed on the continuity test.

Any help would be appreciated

1999 6x4 utility, can't find parts

I'm new to forum so apologies if this isn't being posted in the right spot.

I have a 1999 6x4 utility gator with a Kawasaki engine. I need to locate a replacement alternator for it, but this is proving surprisingly difficult.
I've contacted John Deere directly and they've been of little help.

The basic issue is that operating the gator does not recharge the battery. Inevitably, within a few weeks, the gator needs a jump.

I'll buy a drip charger in the mean time, but hate to resort to that.

Thanks in advance.

I've got a Older 6x4 gas gator cyl Kawasaki motor maybe vintage 2000ish-Starter Solenoid started clicking this summer- Eventually would start after 10 +- starts.
Replaced Solenoid on the starter motor-replaced battery-cleaned all wiring connections to starter and ground to motor. Still clicks-eventually starts-sometime starts on first try-sometimes not.
Is there a relay or something else I'm missing. Ignition switch seems to be working all the time as does the neutral safety switch.....
any advice is appreciated.

I have a 2004 ts gator with the Kawasaki FE290D motor. I need to replace/rebuild the motor. I have checked with smallenginewarehouse.com at they have 2 retro engines designed to do just that. One is a B&S 10 hp ($600.00) and the other is a Generac 15 hp ($850.00). Has anyone experienced results from these motors? Im trying to repower it without wasting money. If the 10 hp works fine, Im good with that

825I Brake Issues?

For several months now i have had a clunk while driving my gator. As i described before its a random clunk under and towards the rear of the gator. Will happen randomly as a drive the gator, some days worse than others. I am now getting that same clunk when i apply the brakes, but only just as i barely touch the pedal. If i feather the brake pedal as im rolling ever so slightly(before the brakes actually engage) i get the clunk clunk clunk with each slight touch of the brake pedal. So at this point, the clunk happens randomly as i drive and am nowhere near the brakes as well as when i am coming to a stop and slightly engage the brakes. Any ideas? I was thinking something to do with a caliper, but the clunk really sounds like its coming from the transmission somewhere rather than a brake, but given the fact that i can make it happen by feathering the brake it would have to be brakes i would think. to add to that, the rear brakes have always squealed like crazy since the machine was new???? anyone ever have any problems like this.

Trail Ride RSX 850i

Finally got a chance to ride my RSX on a trail ride. Although it was only 25mi, it was a good test of my RSX. After a rocky start with my RSX, I was pleasantly surprised with the performance on the trail. The power is awesome, I could push the tail out with ease and made drifting around corners a lot of fun! I climbed some pretty steep hills and through woods it really performed well. I love the seats and power steering, I rode all day and was not fatigued! Had the opportunity to use 4WD a few times and it too worked perfectly!
