Gator 6x4 radiator fan wiring - HELP

$

0
I bought a used gator 6x4 (gas) last year. It started overheating the other day. When I got into everything I found that the fan on the radiator was shot and some of the wiring had fried. I think it might have been this way from the beginning. I bought a new fan, temperature sensor, and wiring harness for the sensor. I'll have to splice in some wire on the main wiring harness to replace the fried wires. My problem is with all the connectors. The fan has a one male(blk) and one female(blue). The main harness should be one male (blk) and one female (blue), but the temperature wiring has two female connectors. Something doesn't add up. Four females and two males. Can someone verify that I have the right radiator in my gator. Maybe the gas model doesn't use a temperature sensor at all. If it does how does this all go back together. I might also add the first red flag to this whole mess was when John Deere could only find the sensor and wiring harness for the radiator on the diesel version. Thanks in advance for your help.

Additional lights on 2016 825i (wiring questions)

Hello, new here at gatorforums but not at all to the world of online forums. I have a new Gator 825i S4 and had a few questions about adding some additional lights to it. I know JD offers some factory lighting upgrades in the way of the mid and long range light kits, but I opted out of those expensive kits and wanted to wire up my own lights.

My question is, it looks like the wiring harness is already in place for additional accessories. When I had the hood off, just in front of the steering wheel I found some extra connectors that I assume may be for the OEM add-on kits. If so would there be any way to tap my own harness into these, or does anyone have an electrical wiring diagram for the newer 825i?

I've spent the last 30 minutes going through the Lighting sub forum and haven't found what I'm looking for. If these are in fact connections for the OEM light kits and I can tap into them with my own lights that would make for a much cleaner installation.

Here's a shot of the new ride and thanks in advance!

New Okie with an 825i S4

Hello! New member from Oklahoma here. My family just got 80 acres of farm land near Perkins OK last month along with a few new pieces of equipment from John Deere to try to turn the place into a nice little weekend get away and hunting spot. For the Gator, it's a new 825i S4 in camo. We also have JD 5055E Cab tractor with a few implements.

The farm has been neglected over the last several years with lots of over growth and lack of maintenance. My dad and I plan to slowly turn it into a nice little place to get out of town and enjoy.

I'm a 20 something Systems Administrator who spends all week on a computer so it'll be nice to get out on the farm and do some work with the Gator and tractor.

Here's a picture of the new rides along with my daily commuter vehicle that gets me to the office and on the rare occassion the top of a 13K FT mountain.

Looking forward to learning and sharing a lot of information here!

Here's my first question about adding some lights and wiring if anyone can help out. http://www.gatorforums.net/forum/gat...questions.html

My 825i overheats. Cleaned filter, cleaned radiator, let air out at bleed screw.
Cooling fan runs sometimes, but not now. Ran a power from battery, and fan runs. I have a shop manual, but cannot find "coolant temperature sensor"

I have a 2012 550 S4 in the shop for its third new clutch and shifting mechanism. Only 87 hours on the machine. Dealer offered me $6000 on trade for 2016 590i S4 ($15100) sale price. My question....is the $6K a fair trade price?

Big gun exhaust sell/trade

$

I have a true dual big gun exhaust for the rsx850i gators that I would like to either sell or trade for a stock exhaust setup. I would sell the whole system for 400 or trade straight up for a stock system. Only reason for selling/trading is the wife doesn't like the extra noise while riding without a helmet. PM me for details.

825i throttle response

I just took delivery of my new 825i and after reviewing the owners manual and becoming familiar with all the controls, I figured I would hop on up in the drivers seat and move the gator into the garage as I had some addon's that I wanted to install and it was about 103 outside.

So i stuck the key in and started the engine, it started, I put my foot on the brake, let off the emergency brake and put the gear selector in forward and let off the brake and nothing happened so I put my foot back on the brake and rechecked the gear selector position and it was correct so i let my foot off the brake peddle again and still nothing so i though perhaps a little pressure on the gas peddle, the engine rpm increased but still nothing so i gave it another nudge on the gas peddle and that sob launched its self into the garage and by the time i managed to hit the brake peddle the nose of the gator was within 5 inches of the garage wall.

Well i was too close to the garage wall so I thought I would back it up a foot or two. I had a repeat of the entry into the garage, sudden engagement of the drive train.

IS THIS NORMAL FOR THIS XUV???:eek::eek:

Thanks,

JD

1999 4x2 Trail Gator Carburetor Problem....

Gator was running fine today, went to restart it and it wouldn't start. Sprayed some starting fluid into the carb and it started up ( hard start though ), if you hold the gas pedal down it would run but once you let up the motor would die. I'm getting fuel from the fuel pump.

Anyone have a video on removing and rebuilding one of these carbs, a good write up with pics would probably work also.

Thanks

New Guy Checking in

Just bought a used 2012 850i - I have ordered the service manual and parts manual from Deere and hope to have that next week.

Our unit has about 550 miles and 74 hours.

I'm looking forward to spending a day doing the basic service and checking it all out.

Right now I can smell a burning oil odor when it first heats up. You have to make sure you have it in the right gear selector or it gets kind of grinds gears. I'm seeing the temp bar get up to the first hot mark.

I expect there to be something wrong with it - which is probably why the other guy traded it in. Hope we don't find anything too serious. We live on 7 acres and have plenty of yard projects as well as a son that has already more or less etched his name in the fender.

trans/shift/clutch - what is normal?

$

I just bought a used 2012 850i with about 500 miles.

I don't have anything to compare it to - never drove one before.

When the clutch engages it lurches pretty hard. Makes for some scary moments when trying to park it in a tight space or back it into a spot. Should it rev and grab hard like that?

Also - when you put it in a different gear, then throttle in it seems as if there is a delay before it takes - then it snaps pretty hard when it engages.

I have a service manual coming, so if this is an issue point me to the right spot and I'll deal with it. If it is normal to be touchy...then I'll deal with that too.

Help troubleshooting a no start RSX850i

Hey guys, just got an RSX850i that won't start. Battery has full charge. Here is what I've done so far. Kind of at a stand still until my service manual arrives.

1. Key on and the dash lights, but fuel pump does not run.
2. Test light on the trigger and feeder wire of the starter solenoid - neither gets juice when pressing brake and turning to the start position.
3. Tested all fuses for continuity. All good.
4. Tested all wires behind right side (4 fuse block) fuse block for juice when key is on. All good.
5. Key on, crossed posts on starter solenoid, engine cranks fine. Obviously no start for lack of fuel pump running.
6. Manually fed 12 volts to fuel pump. Runs fine.
7. Swapped main circuit board with another running 850. The running 850 starts and runs fine on the board from the non-running unit. No change to the non-running unit with the control board from the running unit.
8. Pulled ignition and tested. 12 v to red wire always. 12 v to Orange and yellow wires when key is turned to on position. 12 v to purple when key is turned to start position. Seems logical.

Any other ideas on what I might want to look?
