Hey all! I'm working on a 2015 825i Gator that I'm having trouble getting the EPAS working as it should. After starting machine, the steering warning LED is lit solid, and there is no steering assist.
If I disconnect the battery or EPAS power for a bit, then restart the machine the light will remain off until the steering is used. After which the LED illuminates again very quickly.
The service manual indicates that a solid on LED indicates "Power Ground Not Connected".
Here is what I've done so far:
-Cleaned the ground wire connection on the seat frame - removing the paint.
-Cleaned the power wire terminal and connection at the positive battery terminal.
-Cleaned the ground wire quick connector under the center console.
-Cleaned the power wire quick connector near the EPAS unit.
-Measured resistance across the entire power wire - zero.
-Measured resistance across the entire ground wire - zero.
-Measured voltage on switched and constant power wires after starting - 14.2 volts consistent.
All my tests indicate that power is not the problem, but the service manual indicates that it likely is.
What next?
