I've got a 2016 TX 4x2 and 2007 TS 4x2, both linear actuators are down.
The '07 has a destroyed load tension spring, aswell as the ball bearing screw horse shoe (used to be full of ball bearings, they're above the screw and block the actuator from fully closing)...
The '16 has a stripped actuator gear (maybe spur or bevel not sure what it's called), the pinion on the motor and middle gear work. They engage each other and I can confirm via viewing through the grease screw hole. There is also a bit of play in the actuator when manually spinning it up and retracting which suggests to me a partially stripped gear. Problem is, I can't get the bolt on the rear of the housing off. All other screws are out.
1. How do I disassemble 2016 actuator housing?
2. Where do I buy load tension springs and bearings + ball bearing horse shoe shaped thread piece?
Went to OEM and they said go to John deere, I was told to buy new. At 800 a pop, that's 1600. I want to rebuild. Any and all help / guidance / recommendations welcome.
