First off, I apologize for yet another 825i hard start thread.
Second, hello to all. New guy to the forum here, Phil from Illinois.
I have searched and cannot find the same symptoms so instead of jacking another thread, I will start a new one and hopefully one of you can help me here.
Just got a 2011 825i a couple of weeks ago. Pretty happy with it so far. 700hrs on the machine.
Starting is my issue. First start of the day, it fires right up and idles perfect.
If I run it till it warms up a bit, shut it down, then try to start it again, I have to crank it and give it gas for it to fire off. Idles high at first (to be expected from over fueling for the start) then comes down in the low 900's and purrs.
As for what I have searched, read, and tried...
I do wait for the pump to stop running before trying to start.
I have changed the fuel filter, the pressure regulator, checked the gap and burn on the plugs.
My issue is I have never really worked on anything EFI. I have a farming background so diesels are a piece of cake to me, carborated engines also are no problem... I just don't really know where to go next.
Any advise?
Thanks
