HPX to 825i snow plow conversion

I have been in search of a used snow plow for my 2012 825i. Most of the searching consisted of CL searches and on machine finder. Unfortunately, we got hit with a 33" snow fall and no plow! During the searches I have come across a number of listings, everyone was a straight plow for HPX machines but never looked at one, in person. None for a XUV.

I had spent some time with the online diagrams of both the XUV and HPX lift frames, as well as the hydraulic lift kit for both machines. It seemed to me, there is only one difference between the HPX lift frame and the XUV lift frame. The lift kits are a different story.

Motivated after 33" of snow and luck, I found an CL listing for a local HPX V plow.

The hydraulic lift kit assembly for the HPX machines incorporates a bracket (BM 21572) This bracket gets mounted to the machine and the electric/hydraulic pump is held horizontally to the bracket by two bolts. In addition, the upper portion of the hydraulic cylinder is mounted vertically to the bracket.(pinned) When the entire assembly is mounted to an HPX machine, the hydraulic cylinder is located to the right of center. As is the corresponding lifting point on the lift frame.

Knowing this info, I decided to actually go see the HPX V plow in an effort to see IF it could be converted for use on a 825i XUV. The CL listing had no pictures and only a brief description but........33" of snow, need I say more.:D

I arrived at the location and met the owner. To my surprise, not only was the lift frame and V Plow there but the hydraulic lift kit, wiring harness(w/relays and dash switch) was also included and a rubber scrape edge(squeegee) was mounted to the bottom edge of the blade.

After dragging the plow out of the garage and some discussion with the owner, I decided to take a chance at attempting to covert the plow. We struct a deal, I disassembled the plow and the now prior owner helped me load it in my vehicle.

Here is a picture of the hydraulic lift kit in the original configuration.
