Remove and replace alternator

I need advice on how to remove the alternator out of a 2011 825i Gator.
I have the bolts removed that attach the alternator to the motor and the belt and alt. pulley off and disconnected the drive shaft but can not pull the alt. out past the diff. Don't know if it comes out the side or out the top.
Also I found a site to download a service manual for this machine then lost the link. Has anyone have a link I could connect to?
