I have an 825i and have been having trouble with it being difficult to shift and slipping out of gear for several months now. The kids took it for a ride and were about 3 miles away in a remote area when the shifter was so difficult to get it into reverse, that the shifter snapped off. What a difficult problem in regards to getting it home...had to take a F150 through some harrowing spots to get to it and then tow it back home. If anyone else has this problem, FYI, when they came to pick it up today, they turned the key half way, lifted the dump bed and were able to shift it manually. Through reading this forum, it seems there has been many issues with other people having this problem and the service department at JD says there is now a replacement package to fix it. The tech that picked it up told me he has picked up many for the same problem. I'm wondering if this should't have been a recall issue and if JD is going to cover the cost? Has anyone else had them replace it free of charge or do you have to battle JD to get them to pay for it?
Thanks in advance for a heads up as to what I'm in for.
