I have an older model John Deere 4x2 Gator purchased new in 2004. The serial number is 039280 and the Product Identification Number is W004X2X062164.
Recently, it began throwing the belt several times a day. I discovered at high speeds the secondary clutch had a considerable amount of play and wobble in it and am assuming it needs to be replaced. However, when you remove the bolt that attaches the secondary clutch, there's not enough width to slide it off without hitting the manifold. Do I need to remove the manifold to slide the secondary clutch off or am I overlooking something simple?
