Maybe just wishing here, but in the back of my mind I have an urge to trade in my 2011 825i for a new 850i. I am just starting to do a bit of research but the clutch has really gotten my down on my 825. I am constantly worried about it getting locked up again where I cant get it out of gear (or into gear). This has happened to me on multiple occasions and at one point had to be towed about 10 miles. I mainly use the machine for around the property and will really miss the huge bed, but the open clutch housing has let me down enough that it might be worth the trade. I trail ride 5 or 6 times a year and the 825 will go anywhere I want to go as long as there is no water or mud. If it even thinks I am going to get it wet the clutch will seize.
Does anyone here have any thoughts of I wish I had (or had not) traded an 825 to an 850? I get that many folks are thinking that these machines are used for 2 different purposes but in my mind if the clutch was not a problem and I could take mine into a bit of water/mud and not be worried about the alternator/clutch/air intake/ getting water I would not even think about changing machines.
From what I have been reading so far of the 850 it does pretty good in the water/mud but will probably need to be snorkeled.
What do folks here think?
