We have a John Deere 850D that is getting hot. The fan is not coming on. Don't know if its the fan or the fan switch. Is there a way to check the fan to see if it is it not working? Or check the fan switch?

Hi my name is Ben. Im new to the site.
Have a question though. I have a 2002 4by2 gator and it has lost most of its power. I change the belt on it,the plug, fuel filter, and air filter and none of that has helped it. Just seeing if anyone has any advice on how to fix this problem or why its doing it. Thanks

Evening folks,

Has anyone wired up their 855d for a UK Trailer Light board.
My Gator has Brake, Side and Indicator lights so I can follow the loom back from there but thought I would try and tap into the collectiove wisdom of the Gator Forum.

Qusetions (in no particular order)

Best place to mount Trailer Light Socket ?
Best place to spur into the loom?
Tips or Tricks to make this an easy job?

TIA :)

Hi folks,

My first post/request: My unit has a auxiliary power connectors under the hood and under the box. Both are always hot and separately fused at 40 amps. (Typical use, winch and power box lift, if equipped.) The push style connectors are female and in this configuration:

OOOOOOOOOO
O | O | O
O | O | O
O | O | O
OOOOOOOOOO

~1/2 x 7/8" Sorry, the text didn't render correctly. Pos and neg are the same size and the connector is off set of the middle on each side.

I don't have a JD green or yellow dealer anywhere close and can't find a reference to this style of connector anywhere on the net. There is an electrical supply an hour away but I'm not keen on cutting the connector off the harness to see if they can match it up.

Has anyone found a cross reference or JD p/n for this?

Best,
Jim

HPX 4x4 Transmission Slipping

I have an HPX 4x4 that I have had about 3 years. It has 165 hours. And the transmission seems to be slipping.

When I first give it gas, it feels like it slips a bit before moving. And under a load (with firewood pulling up a slight incline) it feels like it's having trouble pulling.

Any advise on how to trouble shoot/resolve this? I had rather not spend a ton of money with the dealer this close to Christmas!

Thanks for any advise out there.

LED light bar options

Hi folks, I have come looking for your assistance. My brother in law has a 2012 850 RSX and I have his name for Christmas!

I have installed several light bars/pods on his farm equipment in the past and he's been bugging me to add a light bar to his Gator next. So for Christmas I plan to do just that. I don't know a lot about these side by sides or what creative ways owners have figured out for size and placement.

I'd like to add as long of a bar as possible. I'm not sure if all machines do but his has a windshield and roof on it. I'm thinking a roll cage mount at the upper limit of the windshield would be perfect but not sure if there are after mounts available or if I need to fab something.

Any and all help appreciated.

Hi, just updated to a more aggressive tire and bigger rim, selling my used rims and tires plus the lug bolts. They have around 2000 miles and still have lots of life left. Would like to get around 400 for them. I will upload pictures of them.
They are the 12inch rims with 5 lugs.

825 fuel pump relay

How many people are having issues with the fuel pump relays on their 825s? Or any relays for that matter.
I purchased a 2016 xuv 825i a few weeks ago. (As of now it has ten hours on it) Can't be happier with the machine. I did however have a no start issue Thursday morning. Fuel pump did not cycle when I turned the key to the run position. Tried turning the key on and off a few times to get it to turn on with no luck.
It wasn't until I located the relay under the hood with intentions of swapping it for the fan relay did I get it to run. I never did swap them, only tapped on the outside of the box they are in. That was enough to get it to get the machine running.

Are the electrical components on these things that cheap? Should I be looking to replace all of my relays with higher quality parts? I need not have this issue when my wife and daughter are using this thing.

What say the gator forum?

Greetings

James from eastern Pennsylvania.
Purchased an 825i power steering with Deere half doors, hard coated windscreen and a poly roof. Added a 4000lb Superwinch with synthetic rope after delivery.
Current plan is to use my new gator to do yard work, cart the little one to and from the fishing hole, take the trash to the street and maybe pursue a ground hog or two.

I'm not new to gators as I had one for a work site vehicle for a couple years. (Diesel with a deluxe cab and a heater) thing got beat to death and never had any issues other than guys running it out of fuel. Bleeding the injection system on those things can be a real PITA :D

Electric gator issuse

Let me start by saying hello, central Alabama location

Here's my problem, got a 2000 electric turf gator 48v, does the gator have any fuses on the main or option wiring harness, lost all power. JD parts online shows a fuse on the option harness but, can't locate it unless it is in the channel going from under driver seat to front of gator.

I'm thinking a blowed up controller but need to be sure as those are very expensive to just parts swap(troubleshooting).

Crazy 1st post but could use some HELP!!

Thanks

825i passenger side upper control arm. Hit a large rock in a tire rut buried by leaves. Doing 25-30 mph. Rock didn't hit the control arm, just the tire. Shock damage was after the fact, trying to pry it back into place.

Trail repair was a lot of fun. 25 degrees and blowing. Had to haul generator and welding machine in on atvs.

825i help needed

200 hours on my gator 825i 2015 model and im now having some sort of issue. I seem to have a clunk of sorts in the drive line somewhere. The best way to describe it would be it feeling like the passenger is randomly stomping a foot on the floor boards. It feels to me like its coming from underneath or under the seat area. It is not a constant noise and sometimes will not make the clunk for a little while, while other times it will clunk several times in a row. At first I thought it was just a stick or something jammed underneath somewhere but everything checks out and at this point its definitely some kind of drive line clunk or binding somewhere. Gator has not been driven hard. Used daily for feeding/watering animals mostly as well as generally moving around the property. Any input would be helpful. I am at a loss what could be happening.

Apparent air pocket in water pump

For some strange reason, my 620I has developed a circulation problem. If I putter or run 3/4 throttle, it circulates fine and the fan will kick in and out as it should. If I run it full bore for a few miles, the temp light will start flashing. The fan is running, but the radiator is cool. If I let it cool down some, and restart it will heat right back up. It takes a complete cool down to make it circulate properly again. I feel like it must be creating an air pocket in the water pump. Any ideas?

Now Im ready to add a few things to make the job easier, especially late in the evening with this new time. I often work late so Im wanting to add some lights and maybe an enclosure. Having a hard time finding the frame though. Anyway, wanted to pop in and say Hi!
