I'm a first time poster but from reading other posts y'all have helped me a great deal in the past. I seem to have a coolant problem with my 6x4 gasoline gator. I cant find a serial number for it, but I think it is around a 95 model. I believe the engine overheating is due to there not being any coolant in the engine itself to prime the water pump, because the engine does not take long to overheat. I have read on previous posts that there is a plug near the carburetor that when removed leads to a hole where the engine can be topped off with coolant. My engine is a Kawasaki fd620d, but there is no plug in said location, which causes me to think this engine was built before they added this plug. There is a small black hose that seems to run from near the coolant inflow of the engine to near the coolant outflow of the engine. Am I correct in thinking that this is part of the cooling system. If so, I was thinking that I could simply disconnect one end of this hose and fill the engine up with coolant, then switch ends and fill the other side up with coolant. I would just like to make sure that this hose is indeed part of the cooling system, as I do not want to make matters worse by putting coolant where it does not belong. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
