First post on this forum. I have a 1999 6x4 with a gas-powered Kawasaki engine that I bought about a year ago. It has run great until this weekend when suddenly it started sputtering like it was running out of gas. I barely got it back to the barn thinking I just needed to add gas. However, after adding gas and turning the ignition key nothing happens. Engine does not turn over and I don't even get headlights, blinkers, or horn. I put a volt meter on the battery terminals and am getting about 14v so I think the battery is fine. I even hooked up a battery charger, put it in start mode and still nothing when I turn the ignition key. I pulled the ignition switch out and noticed that the terminals are a bit corroded so I cleaned them. After putting it back in, still nothing happens. Could the ignition switch be bad? One thing that constantly happens is when driving the gator, the key just fall out of the ignition switch when I hit a big bump. The Gator remains running, but have to put the key back in the ignition in order to turn it off. Not sure if this indicates a bad switch or not. Is there a way to test the switch itself or to test the other wiring to determine if it is the switch or some other relay? I have also checked the fuses and they look OK. Sorry, for the long post, but wanted to make sure I gave as much info as possible. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
