Just back from my real first ride on the 2014 825i...
Something is slipping, BAD....In 40 miles it did this at least 15 to 20 times at random....
For those of you who are good "Gator Doctors" I'm going to try and give as many symptoms as I can...
First thing I notice pulling out of my heated shop was that I was almost at max rpm to get going....about 5600 to get out the door. Once I started up the street it seemed to shift up and speed increased. (This is in high range)...
During the ride the rpm would be running around 5300 to 5500 at about 24 -25 mph on the Speedo. Every so often the rpm would surge over 6000 and speed would drop to 20 or less...
At full throttle (hitting the rev limiter) about 6000 rpm....I see only 35 mph max on the Speedo. It does not feel like anything is slipping at that point, it feels more like the clutch is just not shifting up!!!
On return home I look in from the back end, I can see a small amount of snow (almost frost like) inside the plastic clutch housing around the secondary....but the clutch appears warm and dry...
Not sure where to go from here.....Is it a clutch issue or is it possible for something to slip in the transmission/gear case???
Thanks in advance for any input...John
