Hi all. New to the forum, and new XUV 855M owner. Just thought I'd share a bummer story for your entertainment. My wife and I just built our last house on a small piece of property in South Mississippi. It wasn't long before we decided a diesel Gator was the perfect rig for the work we do around here...and for the occasional joy rides. We were right, the Gator is a blast and a workhorse at the same time. There is one significant drawback though...DON'T GO TOO DEEP! Only 36 hours on the machine and we got bit by the ridiculous placement of the air intake under the passenger seat. We had been through that area many times, but a lot of rain changes things. Oh...how much does a new 3 cylinder Yanmar cost you ask? $8000 including parts and labor! Thank God we had good insurance that was intended for theft protection, but still covered our little mishap. So...I can't change the fact that we have a lot of water around here, or that I have to occasionally navigate through it. I am however looking to lift it, put on taller tires, and figure out a way to snorkel and reposition the intakes for the motor and CVT. If anyone out there has done this (specifically on a new 855M) I'd sure take your advice.
