Ok, I got a good one, (not).I go for a little cruise through some trails and started running rough, so i limped it home.It seemed like it was discharging, running shitty.but it started back up when i got home.I put spark testers on both cyls.and it looked verry weak to me I still put new plugs in it.I could pull one of the wires while it was running, and there was no difference. I pulled the other one, it dies, . I checked the compression and that was @150/each., so i knew it wasnt firing on both.I didnt want to do anymoore guess work, and decided to take it in to the pros.the .BIG GREEN place, with all the parts!! I figured it wouldnt take them too long to diagnose the problem, and put the part on!Well,it was over a week later, and they called saying they were trying to get the valve cover off,and letting it soak. I was in no hurry. One week later, i get a call, saying it was fixed .Tech. comments--test ran, would run on two cyls.then cut back to one.installed spark testers.had good spark on both cyls .Kept switching running from two to one, front cyl.to back cyl was inconsistant, trie gain better access to siezed bolts. d new plugs adjusted choke with no differance.(like that has anything to do with the choke)performedcyl.leakdown test, and tested good.Tried to remove valve covers to check valve clearances.Had trouble removing bolts for covers.Got rear covers off but could not get two of the front bolts out.one of the bolts broke off.Cut valve cover off to gain access to siezed bolts.used heat, penetrating oil etc finally got one of the bolts out. continued to soak. remaining one with penetrating oil, tapping on it etc.after several days of heating and soaking was finally able to get the bolt out.adjusted valves.test ran, tried to adjust carb, but one of the jets seized.removed carb.disassembled, and soaked in cleaner.Reassembled, installed, adjusted carb, rpm's,not much differance. One pushrod slightly bent.replaced, and adjusted valves, test operated.I get a call, and he said $867 labor(no time) andparts were$85. charging for the carb cleaner,pb blaster, sandpaper,a couple screws and still charged me for shop supplies! .They still have it, but they are going to start charging/day.ANY SUGGESTIONS would be appreciated! If the cyl. leakdown passed, and it had good compression, why get into the valves,if covers were froze? Thanks alot . If forced to pay this bill, they will get plenty of advertising,Ill even post their rediculous bill!Im going in mon. at a diff. location to speak w/the owner,so ill at least give him a chance. At $85/hr.i was charged over 10 hrs .No Prior authorization, just a phone call letting me know they were letting bolts soak, I was in no hurry. Oh, they also topped off my gas 2 gal@4.50/gal.(its hard to read gas guage, just wet finger, wipe lens ,It had over a 1/4 tank,I didnt ride it far, before it started acting up,so .i came right back.)It sure seemed like it was electrical to me,(i think it was something STUPID that was overlooked, Mabe thats where the sheet of sandpaper comes in,possible poor connection?
