850D 4wd issues

I recently bought an 09 model 850D XUV with around 800hrs. This is the first Gator I have owned and I am hoping someone on here can give me some direction on fixing the couple of issues that I am having with the machine right now.

The major issues is the 4wd does not appear to work. From what I have read elsewhere the system uses a setup similar to the Polaris AWD that I have on my sportsman. However going across a creek bottom a few days ago almost got me stuck. The rear tires where spinning and with the 4wd switch on the front tires did nothing at all. After finding the plug on top of the front gear case I checked the voltage with a multi meter and had 14vdc when the switch was flipped. All the driveshafts etc seem to be fine and so far I have not had any luck finding any good info online to help track the issue down.

Second is we just had our first cold snap here in Tx this past weekend. The outside temp was around 50 deg mid morning and the little Yanmar motor was not having it. I let the glow plug cycle a couple of times and after several cranks I finally got it to start. I am curious with 800 hrs if the glow plug is getting weak or if there is an adjustment that could be done to help. I am not sure if this is a common issue in cold weather but the rest of my diesel equipment has no issue starting in that temperature. However I also understand every engine can be temperamental.

Any help is greatly appreciated and I look forward to learning off this forum. Thanks!
