Heavy rain got the fuse block wet and there was a meltdown and some arcing inside the fuseblock seemed to necessitate a new fuseblock. I got the new $40 :) plastic fuseblock and the tabbed brass wire clips and the 'loom' of clips and proceeded to follow the directions that came with the parts. You have to cut the wires off and crimp on the new brass connectors that then feed into the backside of the fuseblock and then clip in with some degree of permanence.
I didnt crimp the tabs tightly enough and the result of wrestling the now shorter wire harness wires into the block was that some pulled out, and thus the brass wire connecting loom had to be carefully coaxed out so the wire ends could be re-installed. The result of this fooling around is that the order of the wires got mixed up. And now I need a fuseblock diagram. Naturally all the wires entering the fuse block are red.
One problem is that the clips insert into the fuseblock permanently so there is no allowance for trial and error in getting them right.
I am also wondering if I can reasonably splice some more wire onto each end of the wire harness to give me some room to get it done right? So that would result in a bunch of wire nuts clustered adjacent to the fuseblock. Is that a bad idea?
