My 6x4 gas gator (dont know year) that i use extensively on our ranch is on the inoperative list. Occasionally would grind when putting in gear but would shut engine off, move shifter back and forth restart and voila it worked for awhile. Now it will not go into gear, horrific grinding so didnt force. I have read through posts here and looking through owner manual discovered the primary clutch is not releasing so belt is engaged all the time. tapping assembly, cleaned with brake clean, blew with air the clutch does not move at all. i would think with a little force pulling on belt rotating by hand and tapping edge the unit would pop open or at least move but not happening. i was hoping that i could get away with clean and lube as i need this machine to get in and out of areas. any suggestions to get it to break loose before i give in and have it serviced by the cutch doc that i have read about? the next obvious inquiry, is how do i contact this person to get my clutch fixed, how much cost and time am i looking at? i definitely am shying away from dealer for parts after reading stuff here. thank you in advance and if more info is required im ready to supply.
