Researched on this forum before I bought this babied 200 hour 2014 xuv 550. Lots of good info and now I got some questions.
Upon arrival I changed the oil and filter, fuel filter and spark plugs. Checked it all over.
1. Randomly at start up it has White Smoke for a second out the exhaust concerns me. I never adjusted valves before and should I? Bigger problems or thats normal.
2. Shifting seems fine to me and I was worried at first after reading here. Nephew has a 850 gator and seems normal shifting like his. Other gator we have is a early 2000s golf cart size gator and it has been trouble free for years....
But good info on a clutch guy here if I need him. Hopefully not...
I spray lubed what ever moving parts i could find on the shifter assembly/parts.
3. It also smells kinda like burning oil after it warms up/ran. Im not concernd yet as it has old gas in it as the guy before me put 7 hours on it in 2 years. So getting that old gas out of there will be beneficial.
4. I heard head gaskets can be a issue but was stuff updated in the model year 2014?
My brother is a engineer at Briggs and Stratton here in Milwaukee. So I started to pick his brain and to get on the techs for any info.
Thanks and look forward to being a part of this group.
