It looks like fuel pumps are a perennial issue here, so I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. I have a 2015 825i, gas gator. When I turn the key on (but not starting) the fuel pump is supposed to engage and prime, but it does not. Fuel pump stopped while I was driving it (fortunately right by the house and not out in the woods). After some troubleshooting I found that the 10amp fuel pump fuse had blown. I replaced the fuse but it blows about a second after I turn the key, I can hear the fuel pump priming until the fuse blows. I have continuity on all the wires that I think are related to the fuel pump.
So my question is, does anyone have an idea on what could cause the fuse to blow? I have not yet replaced the fuel pump relay, I have one on order. Can a bad relay cause the fuse to blow?
In case it matters I also recently changed the oil, oil filter, air filter and as part of my troubleshooting for this issue I also replaced the fuel filter.
