Gritty Wheel Bearings?

Finally got to the point where Green Slime was oozing out instead of stopping the leaks, so decided to replace the front left tire on my old 4x2 Trail Gator. After pulling the wheel, I noticed that the bearings (both) felt a bit 'gritty'. JD was backed up for a month on service, so I took the wheel to a Gateway tire center (primarily automotive tires), who said they can order the tire and mount it for me. I asked him to replace bearings too and he wasn't sure they could get the parts to do that. He said they might try to grease them, but I think they're sealed, correct? If I keep running it as-is, am I likely to cause any major damage?
