Hello, I'm a new member - I picked up an HPX a few weeks ago at an auction - new stuff to me and I have a couple items maybe someone can help me out with?
First, there is not a ID tag on the frame rail - Is there one stamped into the frame somewhere - if so, what it the location? The engine does have a production date of 6/2014 - If engine hasn't been replaced - I'm guessing I'm dealing with a 2014 or 2015 Gator??
Second, glow plug circuit - I don't think is working properly - it will not cold start, I do still have to check for voltage leading to glow plugs - I do see that the dash Temp / GP light illuminate then cycle off -then back on while cranking. I did find a blown 10 amp fuse blown - replaced cycled key and it blew again ?? I did however, notice that the prongs holding this fuse are loose - at least one side.
Third, Fan is not turning on - The gator had a leaking water pump, no thermostat and the switch at the water pump was broken - no electrical stud was present for wire and the fan was hot wired to come on with the ignition switched cycled on but, I disconnected the hot wire - replaced the water pump, thermostat and temp unit at water pump - not sure at what temp the fan is supposed to come on? I did read a blog in here that the temp switch at the radiator could cause the fan not to work - I have yet to test this circuit
Third, I need a few parts - R/F fender, Primary clutch and both rear parking brake cables, Bed prop and could use a gear shifter as well.
Yes, she is a basket case but, I have driven her - The four wheel drive works, the diff locks works and it does go fast for a diesel.
