Hoping for some quick advice here. I have an 2013 825i that gave me my first issue just last weekend. It was all working just fine, turned it off to talk to a friend, went to start it back up and it ran VERY rough, then stalled out. When I went to restart, I didn't hear the fuel pump kick on. Ended up getting a tow back to my place to look at it more carefully. When cycling the key, I could not get the fuel pump to engage. I did hear a VERY faint hum, but it would not engage. Removed both seats and the center console shroud to expose half of the fuel pump top as it enters the gas tank. Tapped and wiggled a wire and miraculously the pump kicked on like all was well in the world. Cycling a few more times, I could not get the issue to occur again. Needless to say, I am a bit nervous and purchased a new fuel pump to replace the one in the tank. I plan on doing so this weekend. Now to my questions...
1. Has anyone else experienced such an event?
2. Any hints as to troubles that may occur when replacing the fuel pump?
It looks like the most difficult part will be the removal of half the world to get to the pump, after that, I am hoping it goes well!
Thanks all!
Ron
