Hello all! New member here. I've been a long time owner of a gator cx that has never given us any issues, but I recently purchased a 2003 6x4 that has already been the exact opposite.
I bought it in "ready to go" condition, but a new radiator, head gasket, and fuel lines later, that is definitely not the case! Long story short, I was totally screwed...
The last evident "bug" that I'm trying to work out is with the clutches. It runs good and does not hesitate (about 16 mph top end), but at times, it seems as if one of the clutches doesn't disengage completely. Sometimes, if I try to stop using the brake, the gator continues to drive forward hard, and if I apply the brake hard, it makes an awful groan and stalls out. I can't tell if it is the primary or secondary clutch yet....
The plastic clutch buttons on the secondary look to be intact, but then again I really don't know what I'm looking at. Sometimes it will stop on a dime....others it will stall and make a groan loud enough to hear a mile away. I have noticed that sometimes it takes 5 to 10 seconds of full throttle to engage the secondary clutch, but only when under load, not in neutral.
Any ideas what may be going on? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer! I really have been shafted on this machine, so I'm ready to just get it fixed right and finally be able to use it for some work!
