I'm new to the forum and in need of assistance. I just purchased a Gator 6X4 with a GX670 engine and am having some issues. Once you turn the key in the "On" position, the fuel pump starts pumping and continues to run. It never shuts off. Once you start it, it will idle and run great for a few minutes and then the oil pressure will light up on the dash and huge clouds of white smoke will come out the exhaust and it dies. The smoke has a slightly oily smell but is not blue. you can restart it and the light and smoke will stop for a minute or two and than return. It also keeps putting gas in the oil. I would think that the fuel pump should shut off when it reaches pressure and that it is pushing fuel into the cylinder and past the rings into the crankcase, but it runs great right up until the low oil pressure light comes on. I changed the oil and filter and within 2 minutes of run time the problem came back. The oil level was too high and it was blowing smoke.
