I have a 2007 XUV 620i and over the last year the shock bottoming out on one pot-hole on the hunting trail. I had replaced them with some pull-offs that were from the new part number. The spring rate was different and I reinstalled the old units.
Well this past weekend, I pulled up to the shooting house and backed up...loud noises from the front end. There were no stick and not even a rock. The front wheel was rubbing on the front fender and broke the plastic, as well as the light lens. A friend notice on the left hand turns, the wheel would scrub on the finder and later nothing.
Reinstalled the replacement shock. The problem is the shock has a bumper under the spring. My front shock bumpers were breaking up. It allows the shock to be compressed two inches which is enough to allow the wheels to rub on the finders.
So, you should check your front shock to see if the bumpers under the spring are in tact. I will add pictures later.
