Hi all, I moved to upstate NY recently and bought a home with some acreage. The seller included their gator in the deal. Given that the land is fairly heavily wooded, it's mostly used to putt around on trails and for getting mail and hauling things up and down the ~1 mile stretch between my house and the mailbox / garbage pickup.
Unbeknownst to me, my dad recently decided to replace his gator with a Kubota (he's enamored with all things Kubota, no idea why) and is giving me his old gator in exchange for some money he owes me.
So, now I have two gators and need to pick one to keep and one to sell.
One is a 2001 Gas 6x4 with 150 hours and the other is a 2002 Diesel 6x4 with 600 hours.
I don't particularly care which one I keep, other than I want the lowest possible maintenance (which I think suggests the diesel) but also want to keep the one that is least valuable, since I don't use it heavily (which I think suggests the gas).
Interest in thoughts and pros/cons. Thanks!!
Separately - the gas gator is nearly empty now (it came with a full tank and I haven't owned it long). Since there is no manual with it and the online manual I found doesn't say, I have no idea what octane to use and whether I can use pump gas or if I need to mix it with oil first (like I used to do with my 2 stroke dirt bike). Dad doesn't know because his is diesel. Any/all advice appreciated!!
