Good Afternoon All!
New the the forum so here goes. I purchased an XUV 550 new in March of this year with 5hrs on it for use as a weekend toy as well as getting around our neighborhood(golf course). We have really enjoyed the machine for the most part. It does everything and more that we need it to and is the perfect size for our purposes. Before purchasing, I asked the salesman if they had seen any issues with this machine as it was fairly new to the gator line up. His answer was of course "no issues at all". When he dropped it off, he mentioned that I may need to bring it in to have the cables adjusted for the transmission, and said it was due to stretching after breakin. I was good with that. I began noticing almost immediately that when shifting from fwd to reverse in 4X4 that it wouldn't do it most of the time and took a "special touch" to get it moving again. Since, the transmission issue has become much more prevelant to the point where I took it in to get serviced with 27hours on it. The dealership called today and told me to come and pick it up after having it for 1.5wks and told me it wasn't fixed because they didn't have a solution from John Deere yet as to what was causing the shifting problems. I have had great experience with John Deere products previously, and have some close friends with 825i's that have over 2k miles that run like new. It is very alarming to me that a major issue occured with this thing with 27hrs on it and there is no solution. Has anyone experienced or heard of similar issues? If so, what was the resolve?
