I was having a surge in throttle response and had several people look at it and it seemed no-one could figure it out. Was eventually told I needed a throttle body. Not wanting to dish out that kind of money I decided to tear into it myself. Here was my findings. There are two butterflies inside the throttle body. The first one you see is mechanically operated and the second one is electronically operated. The mechanical one worked fine but the electronic one was very sticky and hard to open/close. Cleaned entire throttle body and afterwards, the electric operated butterfly worked as smooth as the mechanical one. Reinstalled throttle body and it runs as good as new. No hesitations when you take off and will run as slow as you want with no surging or shaking issues. Yes this may sound juvenile to some of the long time gator owners, but as a newbie, I consider it a victory......and my wallet wasn't hurt either.
