Hey Guys, new to the forum and have myself a 2001 4x2 with ~3600 hours on it. I have been using it here and there and probably put on about 6 hours since I got it. Seems like it has the typical grinding going into gear and howling brakes.
I have now been noticing that while going up a decent grade or under load, the gator is now jumping out of gear. I have read on here that the detent spring and shift collar can attribute to that? I would like to take out the transaxle and do what I need to make this baby better than ever. Is there a "kit" from JD? I do need a seal kit as it has been leaking fluid. Also, I found a brake kit but was blown away from the price(over $500). Anything else I can try and not brake the bank?
Also I should mention, I did do a tune up kit and it does have a new carb. I have the idle as low as it will go essentially. New drive belt was installed and has fresh fluid in the transaxle FWIW. Any help appreciated!
