Hey all,
I'm a rancher by trade that has JD equipment, but has run strictly Polaris products.... we do everything with our rangers, and they have actually replaced our ranch pickups.
My issue with them has been poor design. in 4 years I'll put on about 2500 hours, and the ranger isn't liking it. I've had problems with suspension bushings/ball joints wearing out, shock bumpstops getting knocked out, clutches going bad, vapor lock, fuel pump issues, wire harness problems and steering column splines stripped out.
I'm considering the deere because I think they look a little more stout, and maybe a little more geared toward work than play yet still can go over 40 mph?
I'm considering the 825i, but my local dealer has them priced at 15K for one without a cab, and about 20,000 for one with a cab.... currently, I can buy a Polaris for a lot less than that.
Is there anyone here who has put a lot of hours on the Deere and could tell me if these things are good for the long haul?
I'm not brand loyal, so I'm going to use whichever one keeps the most money in my pocket while getting the same job done.
