First of all I need to mention that I don't own a gator, but I have a close friend that I hunt with who's had one since 2004 and loves it. My friend is a 72 year old veteran living on a fixed income, and has trouble getting around because of past injuries. Since I'm 30 years younger and have no problems turning wrenches I try to help him out all I can. For the most part I've done all the service and maintenance work on his machine to save him the trouble and expense of taking it to a dealer for work. Well he called early last week complaining of noises coming from the front of his gator. Since it's due for an oil change anyway I drove over to pick it up, and when I got it home and drove it, I immediatlely experienced the problems he was describing. It feels almost like there's no left front shock at all. It seems with every little bump, it feels almost like the left front tire is hitting the top of the fender. I know that's not the case because when I jacked it up, everything feels tight and secure. I'm wondering if the problem is not in the drive line? Perhaps with the front differential? This machine is an 04' HPX 4x4.
