My first post as a newby on this forum is asking for some help from Gator owners or techs.
Idiot light came on our Gator saying battery not charging. We bought it a year ago ,has 895 hours on it,second owner. Replaced the battery in May this year.
My question is, where is the physical location of the voltage regulator and how do I tell if the voltage regulator or the alternator is bad?
I checked the voltage in the battery,it is strong,14 volts. When engine is running no magnetic field on back of alternator.
New alternator at Deere is $120+ and rebuilt alternator is $287 . I am not a fan of throwing money at a problem. I have found alternators on Ebay running from $80-$167 claiming to fit diesel yanmar gators.
